LYNCHBURG, Virginia — In what was clearly meant to be an attack on Sen. Ted Cruz’s p**********l campaign, announced shortly after midnight, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) may have accidentally admitted that it’s worried about a Cruz GOP p**********l campaign—noting in an email to supporters that his announcement “sent shivers down” their spines.

“If you’re like us, just reading that phrase probably sent shivers down your spine or produced a pretty serious roll of the eyes,” the DNC said in what it calls a “Factivist” email to supporters early on Monday. “But as of this moment, Texas Senator Ted Cruz is officially running for president, and if we don’t do everything in our power to stop him, the possibility of President Ted Cruz could become a reality.”

It listed out three things the Democrats want their base to think about Cruz.

“He led the GOP’s government shutdown, costing the economy a staggering $24 billion, as part of a personal crusade to take away quality health care from millions of Americans and give control back to the insurance companies,” the DNC email stated. “He has obstructed everything from raising the minimum wage to paycheck fairness to immigration reform. He would give corporations and the richest Americans huge tax breaks, at the expense of working Americans.”

The email concluded by encouraging Democratic activists to sign up for DNC lists, and get involved in their “Factivists” program.

Cruz became the first high profile 2016 p**********l candidate for the White House to announce his campaign, and did so via Twitter–a first. Even Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), an establishment Republican who previously called Cruz a “wackobird” and has endorsed Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for president, acknowledged it’s very possible Cruz may win the Republican nomination. During an interview on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday before Cruz’s announcement, McCain said he would back Cruz should he win the GOP nomination.

Not sure that I trust Cruz, to be honest, but the same could be said by me about almost everyone who's been in national politics more than, say, two or three weeks! :?

The DNC was laughing so hard it sent shivers down thier spines. Don't blame them, the more candidates you line up to appeal to only 30% of the Republican party the better. Hey and why not. You've done squat with mainstream candidates so you might as well loose with one who falls off the edge. Get Palin as his running mate. That would really be a hoot!

JMHO,

Cruz is at best a 2nd tier candidate out of the 15 or 16 who will get in the mix. You clearly like him, but it is a national e******n and the fact he is popular in Texas and Georgia means little. He is not popular nationally and will be gone, or at least out of consideration before the convention.

Fact is their are conservatives all across this great nation and hearing conservatism articulated by Cruz is refreshing. You Libs can demonize all you want but the fact of the matter is, people are onto the liberal craziness and are rejecting your message!!

All you have is your h**e speak and people are s**k of it...bye bye!!

So? WTF does that have to do with what I said? They said Reagan was too conservative and couldn't win, but he did...if Cruz could form the same coalition, he could win too.

Yeah, Yeah. Otherwise known as a hit letter, a fundraising missive. Anyone but some right wing nut deletes it immediately.

Cruz's talk at Liberty University, where he announced he was going to run, was full of red meat and platitudes. He's been speechifying all over the country for years and what has he said? We don't need a second-coming of Reagan. Most people want substantial ideas and plans on how to solve this country's problems, left, right, center, wh**ever. I don't see how anyone can get excited about yet another crass oppurtunist who seems to think he could ride into the White House with no thoughts or ideas not already prepared for him by the think-tank du jour. I know it's still way too early, but how long before he stops pandering to the base and has something to offer besides "Obama=bad, me=good?'

JMHO, J Anthony, I don't believe he will be in the race long enough to start presenting as a normal person.
He will never get enough money to wage a real battle. The frightened little old white guys can't spare enough from their SS checks to keep him going.

That's your warped libtard opinion...when we hear comments like this from the left, we know we have a good candidate. Your opinion means zilch.

I think he did that...Taxes, health care, education, our border and more. I'm sure he will get more specific as time goes on or should he have said if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor?
