Possibly of interest to all, here is what I can thank Obamacare for in my life.

At least half of the doctors either me or my wife need to go to won't take insurance at all, or at least they will jack up the price of care by $10,000 just to deal with the jerko's plattitudes.

In the recent discovery of an abdominal lump, and discussions about such with my doctor (who I have seen for over 20 years, and doesn't take ANY insurance nowdays) it became clear that I'm on my own. As United Health Care now has a $5000 deductible up front before they will pay anything - for my now high premiums of over $13,000 a year. (over $1100 a month)

Sooo, wifey and I now pay:

1) Mortgage bank robbers - $9600 a year
2) Health Insurance robbers - $14,800 a year
3) Water Monopoly robbers - $1850 a year
4) Credit card robbers - $1350 a year
5) Income tax robbers - $28,000 a year

In essence, I work for the assortment of robbers and after an operation to remove an abdominal lump, will no longer have anything left over. This is what Obammycare was designed to do.

That just isn't right. No one should have that much of their hard work confiscated.

He probably chose to have a mortgage and credit cards.

My guess is that you are making around $120,000.00 a year if that is your federal taxes. If it is also social security, then you make less. Why are you blaming the government for your mortgage? Your credit cards?
You are just an innocent living on your own land, with stuff freely coming to you. No, you have bills that you made. You can opt out of Obamacare for a small fraction of the $14,000 that you quote.

It kind of sounds like some of the reasons that we came to America in the first place.

It;s a fine time we live in. I know exactly how you feel.

I live in SF Bay Area, where its maddness as far as cost of living. for a 2 bedroom house, 1 bath. medium price is 750,000.00, rent for 1 bedroom Apt. is 2,100.00, unfunished, plus utilities, 2 months up front, plus deposit.

To boot, the economy is so great, that business as my own had to close do to lack of customers and other business closing. Ones that I have dealing with for over 45 years. Yet guess who are thriving. I******s, are flooding business sector in construction, Landscapeing, undercutting all phases of work. Even in the Union Halls, where I have to find work now, are 3/4 i******s, they just get f**e ID's.

But now Obama, is going to let them, get the money that they paid into f**e SS#. Yes, he is for the poor unfortunate, I******s, that also have being collecting all the benefits of free health, food stamps, low rent housing, welfare, while taking away jobs in the industry. Yet the GOP, goes along with the whole system.

I hope the public finally realize, that both parties need to throw out the bums in Congress, or for that matter, Gov., who all just looking out for themselves, while we all suffer for thier power grab!!!

For example, along with letting Bureaucracies of Government getting stronger and larger, stripping our rights at every turn, with no v**es from the people, Obama is trying to get UN involved with his deal with Iran, with the Congress out of the picture, and Us the people, not having a say, or even made aware of what this deal is going to be. Sine when did we, give the UN, power over Our Country?

Trucksterbud: The Medical Care, Pharmaceutical Industries, Hospitals, etc. in U.S.A. are a monopoly to make money supported for many years by our corrupt members of U.S. Congress for the money they received as political contributions. OBAMACARE passed in the U.S. Congress in 2010 water-down to help the Insurance companies for the money their lobbyist paid to members of U.S. Congress. Medical Care in U.S.A. is like "MAFIA" business and nothing can be done to regulate and lower the cost for the benefit of everybody.

At least you have insurance and an out of pocket maximum...before obamacare, those with a pre-existing condition lived this scenario all day, every day and there was no out of pocket maximum. The providers just billed until no longer can pay, sent to collections, lien on assets and garner wages.

I think it is hilarious to hear the whining about medical bills when folks I know suffered and went broke years ago but "that's the free market" they said. Now all of a sudden, there is an interest in the cost of health care.

Wise up and go to an in-network provider if you have insurance and you were supposed to plan for this with a health savings account:

http://www.bankrate.com/finance/savings/how-to-choose-a-health-savings-account-1.aspx

Otherwise, quit blaming someone else for your problems and plan better next time. That's what they told those I know when faced with medical bills.

You should've read your policy, and checked if your doctor's were participating before a visit. I guess some folks read something they sign for afterwards.

Don't rely on one doctor either. Make sure you get a second opinion especially on different theories regarding whether to only monitor it, scan it or biopsy. A lot of doctors will make a decision based on the most likely condition rather than a decision based on the worst consequence condition (because they reason it is rare or unlikely). Challenge their decisions and make sure they are considering the worst case scenario and taking action on that, independent of whether or not the odds are likely.

I don't deny the viability and t***h in every word you write, but you know that living in the area you do live in is also part of the problem. If at all possible, move to a less urban place and you will feel like you have moved to Paradise. My mate and I fairly recently moved to a rural area of Arizona, bought 2 acres with a dilapidated concrete brick structure which at one time was a business - we paid $45,000 for it knowing it was a dog....but we could see potential. We sunk another $60,000 and a lot of hard labor into it, and it now appraises for $130,000. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, dining room, walk in closets in two of the bedrooms, a covered deck, huge 'ou may want to consider moving. We would love to have you here!! It's high time to quit paying for everyone else's pleasure......spend your money on yourself. NO ONE would call us even close to wealthy, but even little bits of money can be spent more wisely than most people do spend.

Our little community is not even incorporated, but has 3 eating establishments and 2 bars.

Looks good, but the land is FLAT, did you guys iron it? We LOVE the mountains, and only paid $70,000 for our brand new four bedroom two bath house. I guess we have around $130,00 into the whole property 70 acres, a three car garage house with porch and deck that we made ourselves. Not a bad deal but Horrow of Horrors IT IS A DOUBLE WIDE so we are automatically trailer trash. Guess what, we have absolutely no debt!!.
