Obama, first lady fly to Los Angeles on same day but take separate flights

President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama flew to Los Angeles on Thursday for TV appearances but took separate flights, collectively costing taxpayers at least $1 million.
The president went to appear live on comedian Jimmy Kimmels late-night show on ABC, while the first lady went to Warner Bros. studios in nearby Burbank to tape an appearance on Ellen Degeneres popular daytime show that is scheduled to air on Monday.
Obama traveled on Air Force One, which reportedly costs taxpayers at least $200,000 per flight hour. So the price of his five-hour, coast-to-coast trip will be roughly $1 million.
The cost of an Air Force flight like the one the first lady took reportedly costs more than $28,000 an hour.
After appearing on Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel, the president attended a Democratic National Committee fundraiser, then left Friday morning for Phoenix to visit a veterans hospital before returning to Washington.
The first lady returned directly to Washington.

Like most things Libtard, the money they are spending does not come out of their pocket so why should they be concerned about wasting it?

It may be that they're not getting along so well. That they think that separate aircraft is little different than separate cars. After all thy are not actually paying for it themselves. We are paying and we're here to serve them, or am I mistaken.

I heard the other day that eric holder admitted that there is about $90 billion in fraud and abuse with medicare. this is only one of many entitlements, so you can imagine what the total tab is. then throw in the stupid (but legal) spending of our elected officials (like shrimp on treadmills), and it's just astounding.
I do believe that if someone ran for president, only on a platform dedicated to elimination of gov't waste and abuse, and putting the violators (including stupid politicians) in jail he/she would win in a landslide.

Did I personally expect it? No, I expected him to be a tax and spend liberal nut. And he is. I was recovering from a catastrophic illness and accident when Obama was elected the second time. The staff caring for me had a large black component of staff. Whey were positively gleeful. Then, he got his retroactive tax thru, and BINGO they were sad, a couple came by and said "Peter, you were right" , there were earning more, taking home less. When I left the facility, more than one asked that I employ them even on day a week off the books, at their hospital hourly rate.....
