Former Republican, now Independent. Unfortunately, you are 100% right. I also have no belief in any of the religious gods. If there really were such they certainly would be able to communicate better than most of these money grabbing religious fools!

Our Great Poet Robert Frost has the answer!
Robert Frost was asked at his 80th birthday party what he had learned in those 80 years about life itself. He answered, “I can tell you in three words:

“IT GOES ON.”

Agreed. Isn't is strange in the day that two adults can politely disagree on a point or two and not resort to name-calling and character assassination? There are many who can learn from our example.

Have an awesome evening.

U 2 have a great evening. I really have no idea as to why things have become so acrimonious when 2 persons just have a different view. Like I am right and you have to be wrong and a bad person because of it???!!!

Crazy isn't it?

Why are they discussing religion at all? The last time I checked this was a free country? If my child was denied water for any reason. I would have sued the school for a humanitarian rights violation.

I can't fogure out the acrimony of it all. I am in Frisco , CO . I seem to be surrounded by some real liberal utopian thinkers. I own guns that i keep in a gun safe in Denver.

I invited some people to my house here for dinner and what I got was 2 replies saying that because i was a gun owner (and sympathizer) they could never enter my house again!!!

It was hilarious. I can't figure out how one could feel threatened by guns 80 miles away. I didn't ask the question.

Do you in your disagreement think that Muslims should demand that Christian children in schools should be kept from drinking water in the school? I am not sure Obama doesn't feel that way but I ma be wrong.

Boy Roy do I ever agree. 100% of this bull is coming from the WH.

I can elaborate on what you say because my foster daughter was in Afghanistan for 11 months after spending two years in Kuwait.

It is a sign of something when schools start pulling crap like that and I think all of it is coming from the White HOuse.

More of the faithful should think and speak as you have. I do not have a problem with people of other beliefs as long as my rights that are guaranteed under the constitution are not infringed upon.

In this case a state school clearly crossed the line in the separation of church and state. A child was subjected (coerced) into participating in a religious ritual during school hours. It's that simple period.

It should be noted the term I used was "god" with a small 'g' - not to be confused with the Creator of the universe and all that is within it. (Obama supporters would have trouble with that!)

I once was agnostic, too, but have since become a dev**ed Christian. I respect your position especially since I was in your shoes once back in the day.

Independent thinking is all right in my book as thinking is greatly encouraged by me (too many people relegate their decisions to others who ALWAYS have their best interests at heart) (cough, cough, gag).

Have a pleasant evening.
