The Real Enemy of the U.S.A.

I came on this site in an attempt to understand why our once great country is falling apart. I believe I now understand.

I thought the problem was our corrupt, corporate owned government. The real enemy is we the people. We can not agree on even the basic issues. We are so divided, our representatives act with no regard to the wishes of the people who elected them. Why should they? It's not as though we will do anything about being sold out? All we do is complain.

Same ole politicians are d**gged out for each e******n. Same old tired ineffective agendas. Convince the people to v**e for an independent candidate is to waste a v**e. Not one new idea in the lot of them.

Each of the two parties are incapable of compromise. As long as you can keep the people divided you can place any i***t in any office. Once elected he/she doesn't have to accomplish one thing promised. Just blame it on the other party. Convince people to identify with one group or another ie: conservative, liberal, Democrat, or Republican. Have them stand by this group ,even when they know they are wrong because they feel they have no recourse. Better the devil you know.

Create false crisis after false crisis to keep the people from realizing just how bad they are being screwed. Take the focus off what you are not doing and place it on some trumped up crisis.

In my opinion, if we the people do not come together soon, we are doomed. These clowns in Washington do not care what the individual's problems are. They only care about the bottom line of greed and power.

We have given away our freedoms. We will not regain them by backing either of the parties responsible for their loss. Both parties are guilty of selling out their constituents. Look at the last budget.

I would like to hear anyone's logical thoughts on what we can do now to rectify this situation before it becomes: R.I.P. AMERICA. Anything that will benefit the majority of people regardless of race, religion, or national origin.

Yup, Wolf, "blame America first." "Regardless of race, religion or national origin," America is ALWAYS wrong - oh yea and Israel. Great Satan and little Satan; respectively.

I have a different take on things in America, Wolf, and I still believe "WE" are the greatest nation that has EVER been created. I still believe OUR Constitution is working just the way our Founders projected and EACH regime that controls the "joy-stick" has to put up with an entirely different ideology; and OUR government moves at the speed and "fine" adjustments that the "wheels of Justice..." provide.

Our Founding Fathers worked, voyaged and s***ed for decades to both avoid conflict with King George III and take into full-consideration that such tyrants and other people may-well upon e******n or "c**p," assume the character of Attila the Hun and/or Genghis and Kublia Kahn. You know the old saying: "divide and conquer". That's what the elites finally figured out in the early 20th century. Dale Carnegie figured it out, then politicians figured out. It's just that we the people haven't figured it out.

We are being manipulated by the 4 disciplines of a modern society: Comfort, Money, Status, and Knowledge. Each of us are drawn to those areas, and money is the number one manipulator. Knowledge is the least likely pursuit. The elites exploit our pursuit of money. They figured out how to borrow it and then lend it back to us. Taxes are the means of adjusting our spending habits to fill their pockets and once everyone is poor the republicans come along a lower taxes and cut programs.

It's a big rat race, and once you sit down and think about it, it is simple game theory. We always want what we can't have and want to get it for the least effort.

How can we fix it, hmmm, we must turn our backs on the four pillars (comfort, status, money and knowledge), to rise above this system or go below it. 100 million tax paying Americans can v**e by not paying their taxes for just one month: state and federal coffers would empty and they would have no way of borrowing money-then the fools we v**ed for would either listen or go home. That's how we can make our v**es count, not by v****g-but by closing our check books, fall off the grid, but it is going to take 100 million households to say they've had enough.

One more thing, no matter whether your a leftie or rightie YOU ARE BEING MANIPULATED, THE ELITES ALL WENT TO THE SAME SCHOOLS, TO RISE TO POWER THAT WENT TO A PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE TO RISE. Believe me, they all go drinking from same trough at the end of the day, laughing at us, and pretending to listen-ALL OF THEM, frauds, c***ts and manipulators.

I would like thank everyone who took the time to answer this post. You have all given me food for thought. The one common theme in all the replies is how much we all love this country.

It doesn't seem to matter weather we are Independents, Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives, or Liberals, I believe we all know how lucky we are to live in this country. I have lived all over the world and with all its' faults this is still the best country in the world to me.

I am willing to work hard to restore our freedoms. Willing to put my money where my mouth is. I want my Grandchildren to feel what my father felt for this country. President Reagan sent him a letter thanking him for his service in WWII. He framed that letter and placed it in his office. He was so proud of it. He didn't think much of President Reagan but he had nothing but respect for the office. The one thing he stressed to me was freedom must be protected.

Excellent post :!: I don't think it could be put any better...by me, at least. How can we expect our legislators to behave any better than we do ourselves? I still remain optimistic that we will pull through this period of crisis as we have all others in the past.

Once "we" as a country can take responsibilty for our mistakes and misadventures, maybe we can begin to turn things around. We (meaning our government, our citizenry, our corporations) have gone astray in recent decades, this is obvious. We all say we want a stable,, sustainable future, but can't agree on how to get there. Partisan-politics is one of the bigger obstacles and distractions these days, as it seems no one in the Establishment is interested in real change. They think we can just tweak around the edges and solve problems that way. But most societal problems are symptoms of an outdated socio-economic structure, and it's going to take alot of courage to face this fact head-on.

Not sure I agree with everything but I do agree, that this country is in deep s**t. We the people are a big part of the problem. We wanted to let people in so a n i*********n l*w was drawn up, now nobody wants to follow it or even remembers it. We the people v**ed to live in under a Republic, governed by the people who elected others to run the Republic according to a Constitution. Now most people think the Constitution is outdated. It worked for over 200 years till our elected officials started to interpret it to suit themselves. It cannot work unless it is followed strictly and to the letter. Yet we v**e these people into office to do our bidding, well maybe 1/2 of us do the other 1/2 watch and complain. Our Republic now does so much more than was originally intended because our elected officials passed laws and lied to the public it was necessary for the good of all of us, and we let them. The only thing gov't stands for now is a public feeding trough for the gov't.
