Nobody pays that rate. Corporations have loophole that allows them to not pay anywhere near those rates. And just how did Obama regulate business to death. How did he get all these regulations through congress. I pay pretty close attention to what's going on and I haven't seen any deluge of regulations, I've seen little change. Dodd Frank was an attempt to restore some of what was lost when Glass Steagall was repealed but the Republicans have managed to delay its requirements , And they got another two years of delay in the most recent budget spending bill. It had nothing to do with spending and every thing to do with avoidance of compliance of the bill while the new Republicans majority can chip away and chip away until it goes away. That's how it works with them if they don't get what they want they just keep taking bites till is gone. Art Laffer, ( he of the curve ) and Larry Kudlow former Reagan economic advisor are still at it. Still believers in supply side economics. Neither of they nor Stephen More chief economist for the Heritage Foundation saw the financial crises coming in 2008. But since Obama was elected they've been warning to get ready for big inflation and higher interest rates which was an OP Ed by Art Laffer in the Wall Street Journal in 2009 Predicting1970's type of stagflation. What's followed is the lowest inflation in two generations and the lowest interest rates in history. So the supply siders continue to get things wrong while the Keynesians have gotten every thing right. So the current state of the GOP on economic policy discussion is monopolized by people who have learned nothing from being wrong for the last 35 years and probably longer.

No we thought Obama would be a liberal and we hoped he would bring change from the move to the right the road the nation had been traveling since the early 1970's but we forgot it takes a lot more than one man to change the trend. Had the Federal Reserve not rescued the nation from the abyss we were staring into in the fall of 2008 their might have been a chance but they bailed the reactionaries out and we keep chugging down this same same old road with not even a fork in it. It will take another Great Depression to bring real change just like it did in the 1930's
