Saving Private Ryan was my 1st pick. Awesome movie that near every veteran could relate to.
When I saw Catch-22 it was deemed a somewhat of a comedy for many. Not me. I related to many scenes. War is hell and a crazy one at that. At times serial mental pinching goes on. Lots of reality checks happen in war and Catch 22 captured that facit extremely well.

There are many from which to choose, but I v**ed for All Quiet on The Western Front. Many of them show the true horrors and futility of war. A few I could relate to, not the actual events, but similar.

Just watched MASH again. Great funny movie, that also showed that war is brutal for those fighting it.
