Here's the big question. Can they pick off a diaper head at 3/4 mile?

Probably but I don't think that was the intent for this group. :-D

Was it this one?

They do a lot of "synchronized" dances in their shows.

Going the e-mail rounds. These guys are good.

Were the rifles loaded all the time, and fired at 04:00 ? Wonder why they didn't discharge much earlier.

How can they walk (march) on ice without a slip? They must not have leather soles on.
"River Dance" with Boots And Rifles

This is the Norwegian Royal Guard Regiment (equivalent to the British and Canadian Guards regiments). These guys give the USMC Band and Honor Guard and the Army's 1 BN 3d Infantry (The Old Guard) a run for their money. It is interesting how a cheesy Hollywood theme (from "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly") can sound impressive when played by an elite military band.
I can't remember ever seeing a display of precision to beat this! All of this is being performed on ICE!
Those are US made Garand M-1 rifles (WWII), and they are heavy weapons (9 POUNDS EACH) also, known for its balance!!
When that one fellow goes on his own –
YOU'VE NEVER SEEN A RIFLE SPUN THAT FAST!
Unbelievable!

THANK YOU !!!!! I was moved to tears. The movements in waves were so impressive. You're right about the rifle although I haven't seen too much of it. You're also right about their precision. I watched it three times and was as moved the third as I was the first. Thank you, again.

I was a member of the "Olde Guard" back in the 60s. One of the hardest things to get right during PCOD (precision Close Order Drill) is having everybody take the same stride length. Get that down and everything else falls into place. We practiced at least 3 hours a day, even when we were on manouvers (we were an INFANTRY outfit). When we walked around our squad bay we had to walk "the walk". I'm 67 now and still stand ramrod straight.

That (the OldeGuard) must have been a thrill for you. I've been a dancer all my life and know how it feels when it's "right!"

My pleasure, Alicia. I love, love, love Riverdance. Actually went to N.Y.C. to see it. Honestly, I think I have a spark of Irish in me, although my whole heritage is Italian. I'm sending the site showing the first Riverdance in Dublin. The audience reaction at the end is phenomenal. I so enjoy watching performances that provoke ovations at the end. When you're a performer, it's a moment in your life that you never forget. (I know!!)

Alicia, Here's my favorite figure skating video ever!!! Michelle Kwan won seven 6's. It was perfection!!!
