The reason for Black History Month, is to educate people like you. W****s have written the history, this history omits most of the contributions of other races. Children go to school and never see their race represented in science, medicine, engineering. There are thousands of patents given to Black people. The traffic light, Edison's light bulb, the filament was invented by a Black man. The ignorance displayed on OPP, is a sample of the ignorance of the country, and the people who are afraid to acknowledge that w****s are not the only inventive people.

We were taught in school about George Washington Carver and his work with peanuts right along with Bell and Edison. That's fine. What you overlook is that the MASSIVE amount of inventions HAVE ALL been made by white people, and NEVER ONCE was I reminded of that fact in school. Why on Earth should we celebrate the achievements of a few black people, by racially segregating them from the rest of the population? Can't you see how R****T that is? By the way, x-rays were discovered with the invention of the x-ray tube back around 1900 or so. By a German. The 2-stroke engine was invented by Dugald Clerk, a Scotsman. So forth and so on. Sheesh.

How about if we just honor and celebrate all the good things individuals of both sexes and all races have done in the line of inventions, literature, music, architecture and what ever else, and forget about what color, race, or sex they are? After all people of both sexes and all races get the rewards of having those inventions, books, music and what ever else and I don't care what color the person was who invented the machine that packages ice cream so I can go to the store and buy it. Just send on the chocolate chocolate chip ice cream and we can all celebrate the invention of some wonderful person somewhere..
