GALLUP: Yeah, That 5.6% Unemployment Figure Is A Lie

In his absolutely d********g State of the Union Address, Obama said that America has changed the page. Our economy is growing and creating jobs at the fastest pace since 1999. (Lie.) Our unemployment rate is now lower than it was before the financial crises. (Lie.)

Lies and more lies. But, what else do you expect from a chronic and habitual liar with deceptive and ulterior motives? What else do you expect from a man Hell-bent on destroying our entire nation, its Constitution, and the laws of this country?

"Finally, Gallup has pointed out that this is highly misleading," according to an article Townhall. "Reports show the unemployment rate is at 5.6 percent, but it's hardly worth celebrating about once it's all broken down:

"If you, a family member or anyone is unemployed and has subsequently given up on finding a job -- if you are so hopelessly out of work that you've stopped looking over the past four weeks -- the Department of Labor doesn't count you as unemployed. ...While you are as unemployed as one can possibly be, and tragically may never find work again, you are not counted in the figure we see relentlessly in the news -- currently 5.6%. Right now, as many as 30 million Americans are either out of work or severely underemployed. ...

"There's another reason why the official rate is misleading. Say you're an out-of-work engineer or healthcare worker or construction worker or retail manager: If you perform a minimum of one hour of work in a week and are paid at least $20 ...you're not officially counted as unemployed in the much-reported 5.6%. Few Americans know this."

And, let's suppose that you are working part time but want or need to work full-time. Let's suppose you have a degree in some area and you're working ten hours a week part time because it is all you can find -- in other words, you're severely underemployed -- the government doesn't count you in the 5.6%. Few Americans know this, either.

"Gallup defines a good job as 30+ hours per week for an organization that provides a regular paycheck," the article continues. "Right now, the U.S. is delivering at a staggeringly low rate of 44%, which is the number of full-time jobs as a percent of the adult population, 18 years and older. We need that to be 50% and a bare minimum of 10 million new, good jobs to replenish America's middle class."

Yeah, there's no other way to say it. The official unemployment rate, which completely overlooks the long-term and often permanently unemployed as well as the severely underemployed, is just another Big Lie.

And, let's not forget now, that Obama is planning on extending work permits to millions of i*****l a***ns who will also be competing for American jobs just in case these i******s should decide to quit sucking up on the freebies.

Got to hand it to Obama. He can take the t***h and twist it better than anyone I've ever seen, except, perhaps, for the devil himself. Oops -- did I just compare Obama to the father of lies? It wasn't, believe me, an accident.

It is so sad what we continue to hear from the pres. I just don't understand why he can't just tell us the t***h, just once! Does character, integrity, honesty and the t***h matter anymore? This is all the reason for our country to take a VERY SERIOUS look at Dr. Carson ad our next pres. We as a nation are heading toward socialism. Where do we WANT to go? We can decide in the next two years.

The true numbers are on the BLS site for all too see, and as this post state's 5.6 is a lie. You seem to overlook t***hs when convenient Rummy.
I don't recall main stream conservatives calling Romney a landslide, could you post your source?

I would normally disagree with anything that a dumbocrap said but Carl Rove did predict a landslide victory for Romney but he's an i***t. Gallop never did such a thing. Obama lies and lies and lies. He stood up yesterday at a conference and disgraced and ridiculed America again yesterday saying that the Crusades were just as bloody and nasty as the ISIS group is today. What he failed to mention was the Crusades were in defense of another group of Muslims that tried to overrun Europe in the 1200's. We grew and changed our way of thinking over time. The Muslims still are living in the 7th century and haven't changed anything in there book of laws, the Koran.

There are two groups of Obama worshippers. One group is so brainwashed that they will never accept the fact that he is a serial liar. The other group knows he lies, but they do not care as long as he follows the agenda they want. Both groups are hopeless and beyond reason.

President Obama has absolutely no experience running a business. He has never hired or fired anyone. He surrounds himself with socialists who have never been employed. How on earth did he change the employment situation. One only has to drive around industrial neighborhoods and see the still empty buildings. Look at the number of people that are working two part time jobs to make ends meet. Look at the number of lies that Obama has been caught up in.

Obama owes so many explainations its pathetic. This is hardly a t***sparent President. He thinks that he just has to throw out a statement and it becomes fact. It was easy to figure out as canidate Obama. At every meeting he sits in on he is the most unexperienced person there. And worse yet he continues to surround himself with horrible people.

I'm convinced that Obama is an evil man that makes evil deciscions. It is what it is.

So sad, but true Danielle, that beautiful fountain outside the WH is brown from all the dirty little lies IT has spoken, so full of himself that it's sickening. When the Media boosts about anything, I know that the figures are wrong, just like IT's Budget, it doesn't add up.

Thanks for a great informative post.

Did you hear about our county government doing an executive order to raise our Gross Receipt Taxes? I going to the meeting on the 10th to protest. They are acting like Obama, which is not acceptable. The Citizens don't want it, they can adjust their Budget, for all the pork they have in it. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR GREAT NATION???????

I've never understood the rationale behind this argument. Stated unemployment numbers, under-employment numbers, those out of work, those looking for work, or any of a host of stats have been reported by BLS in the same fashion for decades. Why the outcry now?

I also find it amusing that this line of reasoning blames the government for unemployment. The government simply reports numbers from the private sector. They are the ones who create the jobs.

Time for you to get informed beyond being dimly aware the government reports the unemployment rate. The outcry is because the methodology that produces these numbers does NOT in any sense portray what per cent of the population can't get a job and is not working. This number is designed to mislead pathetically ignorant people to think only 5.6% of those who want a job are now working. It does nothing of the sort.

Why aren't you aware the government creates lots of jobs? Time to get informed. However, unfortunately, not one of these government jobs creates the wealth needed to run our economy. Government jobs are a drain on our economy, simply sucking money out of the private sector where it could be used to increase our wealth.

In the recession we lost 13 million jobs. Only 3 million have come back, despite continued population growth and massive i*****l a***n entries.

Furthermore, the government issues many thousands of regulations each year that all stifle economic growth. These strongly reduce the employment rate using any methodology to calculate it.

Please try to get informed.

Grow up. It is time for you to get informed. BLS has reported stats on people looking for work since 1967. They break down employment numbers 80 different ways and have been for almost 50 years. Why are you fixated on the 5.6% number? It has been misleading for decades. No new news here, except for those that want to blame current administrations.

And why did you misinterpret my comment? I stated that government does not create jobs. The private sector does. That is where the issue is. You're barking up the wrong tree.

Because the numbers are lies,,,, and used to force public policy based on false premises... that clear it up??

the "job numbers" have been politicized and even th potus (punani of the US) claimed credit for the improvements..

so your contention that this is somehow a corruption of the conservative movement,, if that is what you are rationalizing,,, isnt the case at all..

It is a completely rational response to l*****t politicians taking credit for things they didnt do,,, and after telling the other side of the aisle,,,, "you didnt do that" it is completely reasonable that this albatross be hung around the lefts neck.

No,,,, he is barking up the tree the left is always trying to claim is theirs,,, of course when numbers are good,,, and that it belongs to conservatives when bad...

someone needs to grow up alright,, and take responsibility full time for your l*****t policies and the effects of dishonesty,,, kind of like "lyin Brian williams"
