I really thought this was satire at first. I mean., a black man, legally carrying a gun, is tackled because he (White Guy) thought the black guy was??? Well, just what did the WG think a 62 year old black man with a gun legally holstered was going to do? I know the fine, non-r****t, conservatives of OPP will see no bigotry here; after all, b****s have brought this on themselves right! But this reeks of bigotry if not down right good ole southern r****m! The thing is, this is a holstered weapon, not stuck inside the pocket of a hoody, carried by a gentleman of 62 years, not a thug of 16 years, so it crosses no ones mind that this guy is simply exercising his constitutional rights? Why is it, white males of the conservative variety, think the constitution belongs only to them; that they have a right to carry arms for their protection but others don't have the same right for the same reason? People are lucky that the guy didn't pull his gun and pop a few rounds into his attacker. Of course, then he would have had to argue "stand your ground" so he most likely would have wound up on Florida's death row!

This is a sick country getting sicker every day. Here is something else, there is a very good chance that the fine black gentleman of 62 years was one of the 3% of b****s who are conservative! Yep, he had a gun--because he had a permit to carry it you dumb fuk!

I understand what your problem is, and it is sicker than the precious FEW in our nation who overreact to circumstances. I think that is what happened in this case. Out of millions of people ONE person overreacted, for wh**ever reason, and you have come totally unglued. Overreaction is not a national problem. Race baiters ARE a national problem because you FAR OUTNUMBER overreacters.

I believe the white guy in this case over-reacted, but I was not there, nor were you. I think another poster pointed that out to you. People who jump the gun and make up "facts" before anyone knows anything are the dangerous ones in this country. That white guy didn't know what was on the mind of the black guy and overreacted. Black and white decent Americans walk into stores everyday openly carrying as is their Constitutional right. Many liberal sheep are bothered by this. Race has nothing to do with it. It could have easily been the other way around. It appears this white guy was an i***t. I definitely see bigotry here. That goober is very lucky that the black man chose not to exercise his right of self defense using his legally carried gun.

And, yes, I am somewhere on the libertarian/conservative side of the chart. I always thought that the main thing wrong with the freedom riders was that they weren't 'running guns' to the black communities in the south in addition to the things they were doing. Klansmen getting nasty (lethal) surprises at attempted cross-burnings and lynchings would have been just the ticket.

That said, this incident was from the bigotry of one dimwit. These days, the organized bigotry is on the other side-- The Sharptons, Jacksons, Farrakhans and 0bamas, have some power in the American discourse, the neo-n**is and klan ideologies are almost universally reviled (and heartily laughed at*) in the white community.

BTW, the gun club of which I am an officer has been actively seeking to increase its 'minority' (meaning any human being who isn't a white male) membership. With considerable success.

* If there's anything the kind of s**theads who want to run other people's lives purely can't stand, it's being laughed at.
