Breitbart Texas spoke with one of the judges, Dr. Taher El-badawi. He said the tribunal operates under Sharia law as a form of non-binding dispute resolution. El-badawi said their organization is a tribunal, not arbitration. A tribunal is defined by Meriam-Websters Dictionary as a court or forum of justice. The four Islamic attorneys call themselves judges not arbitrators.
El-badawi said the tribunal follows Sharia law to resolve civil disputes in family and business matters. He said they also resolve workplace disputes.

It may offend you, but NO, this is not a precedent.
seems some things were left out of your post. This is civil law and concerns, in most cases, contracts between individuals or business.
It has been well established that if ALL parties agree to the rules which govern a given contract, those rules can be usually from and law or code the people wish. They may agree to use Norwegian law, German law, American Indian law, often they could make up their own points of law to govern the specific contract they agree to.. But the rules must be specified in the contract and agreed to by all parties...
