Ri-chard, Although meditation was first recognized by the Buddha, it is not connected to any one culture, or religion now a days. Meditation can be about anything. I first started meditation to get to sleep faster, now I meditate on the nature of G-d. It is a healthy way of exercising the mind to a healthy condition. Try it, you'll like it.

What king of subject matter are teaching the children to meditate on? I can imagine based on what they have been promoting.

And what G-d/god would that be - the G-d/god in some bible?
