You are a true prophet Archie -- You have you s__t together here more than a lot of the political experts here . I just love my morning dump-- Then I can refill the old tank . Good old American cooking like my Gramma Jessie taught me how . I am presenting a challenge to all you OPP posters to reach out to the poster next to you and Say --I know you put on your shorts one leg at a time same as me and we are all gonna wind up in a box or hit the fire same as everybody else . New York may have the statue of liberty and the Eiffel tower and crap like that but they don't have the Alamo and longhorns on Cadillac hoods . .Oregon has Crater lake and Alaska has igloos . We all have something special to be proud of . God Bless Texas and all the other states and territories .

Hey! You got the name of the Civil Engineer correct. Gustave Eiffel built the tower in Paris and designed the skeletal framework for the Statue of Liberty in New York. However French sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi the artist who had the idea to build the Statue of Liberty really didn't finish the job. Without the pennies from American Children the French gift would never have arrived in the US of A.

MrB I know You, myself and Aggie have all butted heads because of our different political views. I think that regardless I have always enjoyed your contributions to the various issues discussed here. I think you are not that much younger than me(i'll be 68 in Nov)but we seem to have the same memories of past decades perhaps in music,childhood holidays etc. I have to say you do remind me of Caroll O Connors Archie who was much like my father but a hardcore FDR liberal. I also know from experience there are indeed some genuine "meathead liberals" here and they are indeed frustrating and d********g persons. I being a PA yankee lady t***sported to Texas last year have greatly enjoyed meeting a lot of Texans and so far all of them are good people and a few are friends. I think you are like them a Proud Texan much like that Aggie that came into my life 5yrs ago. I will get that grip like you recommend.

I am a proud Texan, and always will be. We live in the same state, but are two worlds apart. It's at least a 12 hour, hard drive from me to you. Maybe more. I know I can make from here to Houston in 11 if I push it. It's a big place, this wonderful Country we call Texas.
We say Yes Sir, Yes Ma'am, we hold the door for the person in front of, or behind us, help our neighbors, and defend our children, and families like a mama grizzly.
I know people of all stripes, and, I feel like it's a damn shame what's happening to our country.
