There were Arab people whose ancestors had lived in that region for centuries when the powers that be (UN and US and UK, primarily) decided to 'give it back' to the Jews after WWII. If you or I or any of us had been told, sorry, you need to share - or move from - the land of your ancestors so these people can take over part of it, the answer might rightfully have been

I don't know a lot about the history of peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine other than what's been in the news and by googling more recently..But I do know that when the State of Israel was created after WWII no one seems to have asked the Palestinians - or Arabs living in Palestine at the time - or however we refer to them... No one asked them what THEY thought about it. Which seems like a recipe for disaster from the get go.
An honest broker is what's called for here. But who would be a good choice? It has to be someone who won't play favorites or the Pastinians won't trust then at all.

One thing going against them is when the Jews were moved out of Gaza, most recently, they left a complete infrastructure of green houses, schools, shops, etc. They were all destroyed. Why? Because Jews had built them. Nothing was built to replace those things. They talk about their past hunger. Geez, you destroyed green houses that could have fed you.
