On another note, I am unable to recall the last time any of my elected officials held a townhall.

So far mine, Anna Luna Paulina has kept the district informed, but she’s new.

Interestingly enough the last representative we had, who held town halls, was a Democrat and held monthly townhall phone calls. She choose a single topic for each month and they went around 90 minutes. She was ousted, during a primary, by the unions supporting another candidate. I, actually, miss her.

María Elvira Salazar U.S. Representative (FL-27)
Dear Friends/Amigos,
Last week, I worked diligently to make sure the fight for freedom around the world produced real, tangible consequences. Read more below about the Maduro regime's shameful decision to shutter the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Office from his country during an e******n year or about my letter to President Biden urging him to stop the U.S. Embassy in Havana from contracting pro-regime small businesses.
I also wanted to give you one final reminder that my Miami district office will be holding a Spanish-language webinar with representatives from USCIS on February 21 at 5pm about the parole process for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans. To register, click the link here.
It is an honor to serve you in Congress. Let me know how I can better serve you by calling my office at (202) 225-3931 with your opinion.
Sincerely/Atentamente,
María Elvira SalazarU.S. Representative (FL-27) MADURO EXPELLED THE UNITED NATIONS FROM VENEZUELA. WE CAN'T LET THIS HAPPEN! In his latest stunt to solidify his dictatorship before the p**********l e******ns scheduled for this year, Nicolás Maduro expelled the United Nations Human Rights Office from Venezuela, effectively ending the Fact-Finding Mission established there to monitor the deteriorating humanitarian situation his people face.
Maduro justified his move by saying the office works on behalf of "c**p plotters and terrorist groups," a common trick by tyrants who h**e international accountability. We in Congress aren't buying it, and colleagues from both political parties joined me to produce a statement demanding they be allowed to return.
Read the full statement here. MY DIGNITY ACT IS DOMINATING THE NEWS! My Dignity Act is the only passable, bipartisan immigration legislation that will become law. And don't just take my word for it -- check out the more than 125 articles from prominent journalists, politicians, policy experts, economists, religious leaders, and other passionate Americans lauding the Dignity Act as the way forward on immigration.
My colleague Congresswoman Escobar sat down together to work through every aspect of our broken immigration system and found consensus on the priorities we both care about. Luckily for Congress, we already did the hard work! We just need the will from our leaders to do something about this now before it gets worse.
Read more about the extensive press my Dignity Act has received here. PRESIDENT BIDEN: DO NOT WORK WITH PRO-REGIME "INDEPENDENT" SMALL BUSINESSES! This January, I exposed the myth of a new, blossoming private sector in Cuba and the Administration's willingness to engage with it.
This position is naive and is already producing real-world consequences. The U.S. Embassy in Havana contracted a marketing firm called MadWoman to produce an advertising campaign for Black History Month, believing the firm was independent of the regime and could therefore be trusted.
Turns out, the firm and regime get along just fine. Not only is the office space that it occupies owned by a sanctioned enterprise but it also shamefully fired an employee for posting "Abajo la Dictadura" or "Down with the Dictatorship" on his social media.
This embarrassing example only proves my point: The tyranny of the Cuban regime extends to every part of the lives of ordinary Cubans. To assume the regime is disconnected in any way is farcical.
Read the letter I sent to President Biden demanding the Embassy cease business with MadWoman and a request for all communications between them to be sent to my office by April 1, 2024 here. CASEWORK TESTIMONIALS! My office is one of the best in Congress and is always happy to help our constituents with federal casework. Whether it’s navigating the difficult immigration bureaucracy, securing Social Security benefits, or getting your passports renewed on time before a family vacation, my staff is always willing to help my constituents solve their toughest challenges!

“Absolutely amazing job, you guys saved me!” – JC “Solo agradecerles por el excelente servicio que prestan. Bendiciones para todos los miembros de su oficina.” – EV “I want to thank you for supporting me and my little family in our request.” – J.

This is SO typical of a response of a no answer!! I have gotten many of these no-answer replies from coward politicians who won`t even begin to say where they stand on issues that are important to me meaning they don`t give a damn!!

MORE Warner BS:

I wanted to reach out to you with an update on my work to address gun violence. You may remember that a few years back we passed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act , the most seismic piece of legislation to curb the gun violence epidemic in the last few decades.

Thanks to this law, the Biden administration announced a policy this week that will help close the “gun show loophole ,” which previously allowed thousands of unlicensed firearms dealers to sell guns online or at gun shows without requiring background checks. Dangerous individuals have bought guns using the loophole and gone on to perpetrate terrible mass shootings, including at Columbine High School and in Midland and Odessa, Texas.

Closing the loophole is a completely commonsense policy that has been 25 years in the making – even former President George W. Bush endorsed it. This is another great step towards making our communities safer by keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals. I’m proud to have strongly supported the law that made it possible, and I know we’ll continue to see more public safety funding delivered to Virginia as a result of it, too.

While these policies will never bring back the thousands of lives we’ve lost due to the scourge of gun violence, we will forever remember the lives they led and the people they touched. At this time of year, my heart is always particularly heavy remembering the terrible mass shooting at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007. With their memory – and the memory of the thousands of others we’ve lost too soon – forever in our hearts and on our minds, I reject the idea of merely offering thoughts and prayers. I’ll continue working to enact meaningful changes like the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act , pushing for an assault weapons ban , and pursuing a range of solutions to keep our schools, streets, places of worships, and homes safer from gun violence.

If you want to get in touch with me about gun violence or another issue that is important to you, I encourage you to reach out to me using the form on my Senate website. You can also follow me on Facebook , Instagram , Twitter , or Threads . I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
