Government-business Partnership to Finance a Sports Stadium
Here in Jacksonville, Florida, Mayor Donna Deegan is proposing a government-business partnership to build a new stadium for the Jaguars to which I say fiddlesticks, the nice term. The usual justification is that business it helps with business. If businesses want it, let them cough up the cash. If it’s so good for them, they can do it themselves.
When I had an office in Providence, the state wanted its taxes when due. They didn’t care that I employed two people who might otherwise have been on food stamps or other assistance.
When Barry Goldwater was a businessman in Phoenix, a group of them wanted the city to build them a parking building. He objected and said we should build it ourselves and build one they did.
Further, I believe that government-business partnerships are the essence of f*****m. It is crucial to realize that Benito Mussolini had been a socialist. Please look through the following, which are directly from Karl Marx’s Manifesto:
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan…
8... Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
I think you can see an outline of how socialism/c*******m can easily lead to f*****m.
And finally, why should any business be favored by government? If you do these things for one, why not for all?
