The secret is do not cancel with the utility. When the squatters are out of the house, turn the electricity off at the box and turn the water off at the main water valve. When they complain, show your utility bills and accuse them of doing something to cause trouble.

One can only hope when the elite in New York and California go on vacation - they should get a dose of their own medicine - put ads in the newspaper - house empty and one more thing since these politicians have forced private property owners to keep the lights and water on - send the bills to the politicians let them pay the bills including the mortgages and make them responsible for damages - all you blithering democrates either v**e these crooks out of office and install honest citizen oriented replacements - better yet get a copy of Floridas new law outlawing squatting with immediate removal and pass one in your state

We had freeloaders that quit paying rent, my i***t second husband had utilities in his name! We tried to evict them and the law said we couldn’t turn off their utilities! The home was in big bear and the heater was on 24/7! At the time of 400 per month! They wreaked the house and never had to pay!! The court said they needed to leave because they weren’t wanted! But they had to be served again to pay!! Scumbags have rights! That was in calistupid

Doesn’t always work!! But when house empty keep utilities off !! We had neighbors that moved in the neighborhood in a foreclosure! Turned utilities on and had to be evicted! Trashed the house, smashed toilets and stole appliances
