5 years of Long Island was enough for me.
NEVER AGAIN.

No and also have no interest in Chicago, Boston or California either. I am a southerner born and raised. We are happy here in Mobile AL that is despite being members of the Opposition political party. We are small in number but still h*****g on and even getting a few victories.

I wouldn't move to any of those places. My dream state is S. Dakota.

State or City, Upper NY is a beautiful place and some mighty fine fishing. The City no way, I do good with my nearest neighbor being 1/4 mile away, I don't want to live in any city, period.

I live near the Finger Lakes (Canandaigua) in central upstate NY, and after all my days living and traveling around the US, upstate NY has some of the most beautiful scenery in this country. Upstate Maine and Vermont, too.

And I agree with you 100% - after settling down here, I would not want to move to any other part of the country again. The pacific northwest is comparable topography-wise, but the people were more anxious and uptight there, in my experience.

All right just prepare for colder winters than in PA there XXX. I was stationed at Ellsworth AFB and it was PDC(PrettyDamn Cold)forthis Texas boy and his Alabama girl but the twins who were 6 when we were there enjoyed playing in the snow. All in all SD is beautiful and I actually went to Sturgis for the weekend when we were there. Fishing for trout was good too. Good people too.

I was in the fingerlakes region one time. It is a very beautiful place but I don't think I could live there. Not to offend you.
