He was a l*****ts and a proponent of liberation theology. Liberation theology says humans are dehumanised when they are exploited, and this is a result of being treated as objects and used as a means to an end. Marx's teachings on alienation and exploitation have been used by liberation theology to analyse the 'structural' causes of social sin that have led to poverty, violence and injustice. That should be a boost for the President and may bring a few more Hispanic v**ers to the Dems. in November. Cesar Chavez was instrumental in supporting the rights of migrant farm workers. I actually met him when I was 13 at a rally in Harlingen TX (my hometown). I was there with a friend and his family major citrus and vegetable producers.
