Trump's lawsuit against ABC is not the flex he thinks it is

As if Trump wasn’t already spending enough donor money defending himself against a truly staggering number of civil and criminal lawsuits, he just inexplicably decided to take on ABC and George Stephanopoulos by filing a defamation lawsuit that seems doomed to fail. At least such an experience won’t be new for Trump, who already had federal judges toss his defamation lawsuits against the Washington Post, New York Times, and CNN.

The latest laughably thin complaint was filed on Monday in the Miami Division of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The case has been assigned to Chief Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga, a George W. Bush appointee. The suit alleges that Stephanopoulos defamed Trump earlier this month by saying Trump had been found liable for rape during an interview with GOP Rep. Nancy Mace. Mace has revealed that she was a victim of rape, and Stephanopoulos, rightfully, wanted her to explain how she could endorse Trump.

Mace somehow thinks Stephanopoulos’s questions about how she could support Trump amounted to shaming her as a rape victim. She’s now busy now doing a media tour thanking Trump for his lawsuit and calling for a Republican boycott of ABC, appearing on Newsmax to say, “I’m going to tell the t***h, Donald Trump is going to tell the t***h, and we’re not going to take it from a troll with a microphone like George Stephanopoulos.” Yes, Donald Trump, known t***h-teller. If his mouth is open, he is lying. That is what he does.

What Trump’s defamation lawsuit turns on is his belief that being found liable for sexual assault is not the same as being found liable for rape, so therefore he’s no rapist, and it’s a lie to say he is. It’s a dubious splitting of legal hairs, particularly as the judge in the E. Jean Carroll lawsuit already clarified that Trump was indeed found liable for rape in the way the term is commonly understood. The only reason that the E. Jean Carrol case did not have a finding of rape is because the statute of limitations had expired, so criminal charges for rape could not be filed. It will be interesting to see how this case comes out.

That's your problem, not mine. I give a dang about making America Great Again. And it is my unqualified opinion that you and a number of others in this forum are not working toward that goal in a way that will actually help, and you are supporting the very group that has been holding down wages over the last 55 years. In short, you are supporing the group that is actually the cause of our loss of greatness and poorer economy. And that will not help to achieve your stated goal of MAGA.

It's not near as simple as your simple mind makes it. Ask yourself; if your preferred party is so working man oriented why are the richest corporations and the heads of those corporations supporting the Democrats almost exclusively? Where I believe you're wrong and those of your ilk; I don't believe government solves problems. I believe too much government is the problem. Your party has let millions of cheap laborers into the country. These people will work for peanuts, thus driving down wages and taking American jobs. Your party wants to raise taxes, further decreasing the take home pay of the average working person. Government has stifled wages much more in the last 55 years than any rich guy. You h**e Trump. I get it. Facts are facts. Wages went up more than inflation when he was president. Buying power has gone down under mush brain Joe. You just don't want to admit it.

You have your ropinions. Mine are based on the facts from over 55 years of observation. Trump is a drop in the bucket compared to what has happened in the last 55 years. I cannot bring myself to v**e for an adjudicated criminal con man and massive liar. Apparently you can. But your view is short sighted. I take the long view of what the wealthy have done to the working class over the last 55 years. One important function of government is to control the excesses of the wealthy and prevent c*******m. Over the last 55 years, that has not been reasonably dealt with. And trump is not the answer. Neither is Biden.

You act like you're some economic guru but you keep defaulting to Trump. No President is the answer IMO. It would take a much more conservative House and Senate than we have now. Biden is much more of a tyrant than Trump, which is closer to c*******m.
He has defied the Supreme Court on student loan forgiveness.
His administration constantly attacks the First and Second Amendment.
His administration is letting a flood of low educated non-English speaking people into the country.
His personal corruption is amazing, but you and the other lefties give him a pass. Since you're a businessman I'm going to ask you a question. If you were doing business; let's say with China or Russia or the Ukraine, why would you need multiple LLC's, to receive the money from those entities, and shuffle the money from one LLC to another, then have the money distributed to family member individual accounts? I know the answer because of the industry I am in. Do you?

that’s a crock. Biden is much more authoritarian than any president in my life time. Who cares where you worked? You obviously didn’t learn anything. You left wing cult members sure do twist everything. I see you couldn’t or wouldn’t answer my question. You’re a fraud.
