Turning things around after 40plus years of voodoo economics isn’t easy . We need to make things here for ourselves.
Instead of buying everything from China !!!!!
Cheap junky crap from China!

Melonoma2, the very same Democrat leaders you worship are the ones that allowed these manufacturers to leave our country. While they couldn't legally be stopped, a huge tariff could have been placed on items they IMPORTED back into our country. That might have changed their minds about leaving.

4.5 Million people leaving ?????
This would be good as long as the right ones leave.

Melonoma2, yes, the wealthy and upper middle class can afford to leave. Those not fortunate enough will not be able to leave and NYC will become a sewer, even worse than it is now. Last time I stepped foot in NYC was in 1964 for the World’s Fair. I won't go there again unless my taxi driver is driving an M1 Abrams tank with working guns.

During all of the Reagan years, The House was in Democratic hands. It's the House that makes up the budgets. You can look it up.

During the Reagan years, not once was the spending for any Cabinet department decreased. It was The Democrats who refused any cuts. They were responsible for any deficits during those years.

Were you better off after 4 years of Reagan? Absolutely, compared to what Carter did.

Hudson Yards, a new development in Manhattan, is housing 100,000 people. NYC is far from dead. Apartments going for $7 per square foot. Worry when they go down to $4 a square foot.

NYC Poll: 50 Percent of City Plans to Leave in Next 5 Years
By Solange Reyner | Wednesday, 20 March 2024 01:51 PM EDT

Fifty percent of New Yorkers say they plan to leave New York City over the next five years, according to a poll released Tuesday by the Citizens Budget Commission.

The poll, the first taken by the nonprofit since the C***D p******c, also found:

Only 30% rate the quality of life in NYC as excellent or good, down from 50% in 2017 and 2008; 33% rate the quality of life as poor.
50% rate the neighborhood they live in as excellent or good.
Only 37% rate public safety in their neighborhood as excellent or good, down from 50% in 2017.
New Yorkers feel only marginally safer riding the subway during the day now as they felt on the subway at night in 2017.
Only 24% rate the quality of government services good or excellent, down from 44% in 2017.
Still, over 50% of New Yorkers rates particular services as excellent or good, including fire protection, household garbage pickup, 311, and bus services.
"It's important to consider context — coming out of the p******c, employment just recently returning to pre-C***D levels, and increasing affordability challenges — but what New Yorkers' responses crystalize the stark reality that they clearly rate the quality of life and quality of City services as not good," CBC President Andrew Rein said.

"Tremendous progress is needed in many areas, especially for certain populations and in certain neighborhoods. Fortunately, the city leadership's priorities generally align with New Yorkers', including safety, housing, and clean streets, parks, and public spaces."

The survey, conducted among 6,600 New Yorkers from September 2023 through December 2023, has a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage points.
