NEW YORK – The Obama White House and the State Department under the management of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “changed sides in the war on terror” in 2011 by implementing a policy of facilitating the delivery of weapons to the al-Qaida-dominated rebel m*****as in Libya attempting to oust Moammar Gadhafi from power, the Citizens Commission on B******i concluded in its interim report.

In WND interviews, several members of the commission have disclosed their finding that the mission of Christopher Stevens, prior to the fall of Gadhafi and during Stevens’ time as U.S. ambassador, was the management of a secret gun-running program operated out of the B******i compound.

The Obama administration’s gun-running project in Libya, much like the “fast and furious” program under Eric Holder’s Justice Department, operated without seeking or obtaining authorization by Congress.

WND reported Monday that in exclusive interviews conducted with 11 of the 17 members of the commission, it is clear that while the CCB is still enthusiastic to work with Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., chairman of the House Select Committee on B******i, and hopeful that Boehner is serious about the investigation, various members of the CCB, speaking on their own behalf and not as spokesmen for the commission, are expressing concerns, wanting to make sure the Gowdy investigation is not c*********d by elements within the GOP.

The Citizen’s Commission on B******i’s interim report, in a paragraph titled “Changing sides in the War on Terror,” alleges “the U.S. was fully aware of and facilitating the delivery of weapons to the Al Qaeda-dominated rebel m*****as throughout the 2011 r*******n.”

The report asserted the jihadist agenda of AQIM, the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group and other Islamic terror groups represented among the rebel forces was well known to U.S. officials responsible for Libya policy.

“The rebels made no secret of their Al Qaeda affiliation, openly flying and speaking in front of the black f**g of Islamic jihad, according to author John Rosenthal and multiple media reports,” the interim report said. “And yet, the White House and senior Congressional members deliberately and knowingly pursued a policy that provided material support to terrorist organizations in order to topple a ruler who had been working closely with the West actively to suppress Al Qaeda.”

The report concluded: “The result in Libya, across much of North Africa, and beyond has been utter chaos, disruption of Libya’s oil industry, the spread of dangerous weapons (including surface-to-air missiles), and the empowerment of jihadist organizations like Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Christopher Stevens: ’1st U.S. Envoy to al-Qaida’

In the WND interviews, several members of the citizens’ commission, speaking for themselves, not for the commission, added important background to the interim report’s conclusion.

“In early 2011, before Gadhafi was deposed, Christopher Stevens came to B******i in a cargo ship, and his title at the time was envoy to the Libyan rebels,’ which basically means Christopher Stevens was America’s very first envoy to al-Qaida,” explained Clare Lopez, a member of the commission who served as a career operations officer with the CIA and current is vice president for research at the Washington-based Center for Security Policy.

“At that time, Stevens was facilitating the delivery of weapons to the al-Qaida-related m*****a in Libya,” Lopez continued. “The weapons were produced at factories in Eastern Europe and shipped to a logistics hub in Qatar. The weapons were financed by the UAE and delivered via Qatar mostly on ships, with some possibly on airplanes, for delivery to B******i. The weapons were small arms, including Kalashnikovs, rocket-propelled grenades and lots of ammunition.”

Lopez further explained that during the period of time when Stevens was facilitating the delivery of weapons to the al-Qaida-affiliated m*****a in Libya, he was living in the facility that was later designated the Special Mission Compound in B******i.

“This was about weapons going into Libya, and Stevens is coordinating with Abdelhakim Belhadj, the leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, other al-Qaida-affiliated m*****a leaders and leaders of the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood that directed the r*******n against Qadhafi as an offshoot of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood,” Lopez said. “Many of the individual members of the al-Qaida-related m*****as, including the LIFG, and the groups that would later become Ansar Al-Sharia, were Muslim Brotherhood members first.”

According to the interim report, as detailed by Lopez, a delegation from the UAE traveled to Libya after the fall of Gadhafi to collect payment for the weapons the UAE had financed and that Qatar had delivered to the T***sitional National Council in Libya during the war.

“The UAE delegation was seeking $1 billion it claimed was owed,” the interim report noted. “During their visit to Tripoli, the UAE officials discovered that half of the $1 billion worth of weapons it had financed for the rebels had, in fact, been diverted by Mustafa Abdul Jalil, the Muslim Brotherhood head of the Libyan TNC, and SOLD to Qaddafi.”

According to information discovered during the UAE visit to Tripoli, when Jalil learned that Maj. Gen. Abdel Fatah Younis, Gadhafi’s former minister of the interior before his late February 2011 defection to the rebel forces, had found out about the weapons diversion and the $500 million payment from Gadhafi, Jalil ordered Abu Salim Abu Khattala, leader of the Abu Obeida Bin al-Jarrah brigade to k**l Younis.

“Abu Khattala, later identified as a Ansar al- Shariah commander who participated in the 11 September 2012 attack on the U.S. mission in B******i, accepted the orders and directed the k*****g of Gen. Younis in July 2011,” the interim report noted.

Abu Khattala is currently in custody in New York awaiting trial under a Department of Justice-sealed indictment, after U.S. Delta Force special operations personnel captured him over the weekend of June 14-15, 2014, in a covert mission in Libya. Abu Khattala’s brigade merged into Ansar al-Shariah in 2012, and he was positively identified to the FBI in a cell phone photo from the scene of the attack on the U.S. mission in B******i.

The language of the interim report made clear why the sequence of events is important.

“The key significance of this episode is the demonstration of a military chain-of-command relationship between the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood leadership of the TNC and the Al Qaeda-affiliated m*****a (Ansar al-Shariah) that has been named responsible for the attack on the U.S. mission in B******i,” the interim Report concluded.

“What we have here is the Muslim Brotherhood leadership of the revolution giving a k**l order to a Muslim m*****a affiliated with al-Qaida, which then carried it out,” Lopez summarized. “This chain-of-command link is important even though it has not yet received enough attention in the media.

A Big ‘Oh No’ Moment!!!!

“After Gadhafi is deposed and Stevens was appointed U.S. ambassador to Libya, the flow of weapons reverses,” Lopez noted. “Now Stevens has the job of overseeing the shipment of arms from Libya to Syria to arm the rebels fighting Assad, some of whom ultimately become al-Nusra in Syria and some become ISIS.”

Lopez distinguished that “al-Nusra in Syria still claims allegiance to al-Qaida, while ISIS has broken away from al-Qaida, not because ISIS is too violent, but out of insubordination, after Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS, wanted to run his own show inside Syria as well as Iraq, thereby disobeying orders from al-Qaida leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri.”

She noted that in this period of time, after the fall of Gadhafi and before the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the B******i compound, Stevens was working with Turkey to ship weapons out of Libya into Syria for the use of the rebels fighting Assad.

According to the authors of the bestselling book “13 Hours,” on Sept. 11, 2012, before the attack on the B******i compound started, Stevens had dinner with Turkish Consul General Ali Sait Akin. Stevens reportedly escorted the Turkish diplomat outside the main gate of the B******i compound to say good-bye to Akin at approximately 7:40 p.m. local time, before he returned to Villa C to retire for the evening.

Kevin Shipp, a former CIA counterintelligence expert who worked on the seventh floor at Langley as protective staff to then-CIA Director William Casey, again speaking for himself in his interview with WND, agreed with Lopez that the gun-running operation Stevens managed is a secret the Obama White House and Clinton State Department have sought to suppress from the public.

“The shocking part, maybe even a violation of international law that the Obama administration has been terrified to have fully revealed, is that Stevens as part of his duties as a State Department employee was assisting in the shipment of arms first into Libya for the al-Qaida-affiliated m*****a, with the weapons shipped subsequently out of Libya into Syria for use by the al-Qaida-affiliated rebels fighting Assad,” Shipp told WND.

“Very possibly, these gun-running activities could be looked at even as treasonable offenses,” he said.

Shipp further noted that in gun-running operations in which the CIA wants deniability, the CIA generally involves a third party.

“The way the CIA works is through a ‘cut-out,’ in that you get Qatar to t***sport the weapons and you facilitate the t***sport. So now the third party is to blame,” he explained.

“Qatar probably would have been able to pull this off without any attribution to the CIA if the B******i attack had not happened. The attack basically shed the light on this operation the White House, the State Department and the CIA were trying to keep quiet,” he said.

“The attack on B******i was a big ‘oh no’ moment.”

Worse, after the debacle in B******i, it was leaked that warehouses filled with RPGs & other small & medium-powered weapons were open to theft & all of that ordnance was stolen by the muzzies.

Think upon this: any of those 20,000 RPGs can be used to shoot an airliner out of the sky.

Nice work, Obama & FedGov!

I've Been Waiting For This Shoe To Drop!!! Don't ... (show quote)

This goes along with yours as they feel that Boehner is somehow involved with the WH and Obama in this and he is stalling Trey Gowdy on his B******i investigation.

The independent Citizens’ Commission on B******i, or CCB, has been doing its own investigation and working behind the scenes for the past year and a half to make sure Congress does the job the executive branch has failed to do: namely, to get to the t***h of what happened and to hold people accountable.

A major step forward took place last May when Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio, announced the creation of a House Select Committee to investigate after about 190 House Republicans, under the leadership of then-Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., co-sponsored legislation for just such action.

The CCB’s members include former military commanders and Special Forces operatives; former CIA and intelligence officers; well-known experts in international terrorism; and experts in media and government affairs.

In exclusive interviews conducted with 11 of the 17 members of the commission, it is clear that while the CCB is still enthusiastic to work with Rep.

It was a lack of trust in the congressional investigation of B******i that prompted the formation of the Citizens’ Commission on B******i in 2013. The founding members of the CCB were U.S Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, U.S. Navy four-star Adm. James Lyons, U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Tom McInerney (all retired) and Accuracy in Media Editor Roger Aronoff.

Vallely told WND that he believes Gowdy “has received much pressure not to get to the t***h, and we are now coming to the conclusion that there is no longer any intention in Washington, by the leadership of both the Democratic and Republican Parties, to get to the t***h.”

“An honest investigation into B******i would prove treasonous acts at the very top of the White House and the State Department, and a continuing cover-up in Congress that now involves the Republican leadership and especially House Speaker John Boehner,” Vallely said.

Among the CCB’s most significant findings, released last April in an interim report, was that “the U.S. facilitated the delivery of weapons and military support to Al Qaeda-linked rebels in Libya” and that “on the day of the attacks in B******i, whether or not there was an official order to stand down, the result was the same.’

“There were military assets, for example, at the U.S. base in Sigonella, in Sicily, Italy, that could have been brought to bear, and perhaps could have saved the lives of the two men k**led at the CIA Annex, the scene of the second attack that night,” the report said. “The failure to attempt to rescue these Americans amounts to a dereliction of duty.”

The commission has found evidence that there was a stand-down order given to the security guards at the CIA annex after the attack began at the special mission compound, one mile away, where Ambassador Christopher Stevens and information officer Sean Smith were k**led.

The purpose of the mission in B******i appears to have involved a scheme managed by Stevens, first to supply weapons to al-Qaida-related groups and others who sought to o*******w Moammar Gadhafi and later to Syrian rebels.

Republican leaders are covering up the White House’s offenses, some commission members believe, because the White House made them aware of the gun-running and they gave assent to it.

Gowdy proceeding ‘at glacial speed’

Vallely explained that the Citizens’ Commission on B******i was formed “after we saw all the stumbling and deception that was going on” with the initial round of B******i hearings held by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee in January 2013.

The commission, he said, meets every couple of weeks, and “we’ve gone in and investigated on our own, conducting interviews and uncovering facts.”

The other founding members of the commission share Vallely’s concern.

“Trey Gowdy’s Select Committee is proceeding at glacial speed,” said Lyons, former commander-in-chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. “It is unclear where Gowdy is going, and the signs are not good.”

Aronoff believes that Gowdy might yet conduct a thorough investigation into B******i that would produce the trut and was encouraged by closed-door meetings that were held last week between the Select Committee and both the State Department and the Justice Department. But he also expressed some concerns.

“At the time Gowdy was picked, all of us were ecstatic,” Aronoff said. “Gowdy was the one guy that, if we were asked, the Citizens’ Commission would have said was the right guy.”

He said that after the first meeting of the House Select Committee, Gowdy was saying the right things, suggesting he would hold a public hearing within a month.

“Whether there was some sort of a deal cut at the beginning of Gowdy heading the select committee we don’t know,” he said.

“We’ve been publicly hesitant to criticize Gowdy, because we’re still hopeful he’s going to be the right guy,” Aronoff emphasized. “We’re trying now to pressure them from the sidelines, and we don’t want to come out blasting Gowdy, saying that the ‘fix is in.’ We still feel the select committee is there, and we want to give Gowdy the benefit of the doubt to see what he does.”

Aronoff explained he was disappointed that Gowdy chose to dev**e his first two public hearings to examining the State Department Accountability Review Board process.

“Those hearings were pretty bland, not really getting to the heart of the matter,” Aronoff said.

Citizens’ commission member Pete Hoekstra, who served for 18 years as a congressman from Michigan, and who was chairman of the House Intelligence Committee before retiring from Congress, told WND he retains confidence Gowdy will produce a good investigation.

“I’m not anywhere close to giving up on the work of Gowdy’s committee,” Hoekstra said. “The good thing is that Gowdy and his select committee have jurisdiction across all the different departments and agencies of government that are or might be involved in the B******i attack.”

Hoekstra said he still believes Gowdy’s committee “will be the first to give the entire B******i incident a complete and thorough look.”

Next hearings classified, closed to public

Jamal Ware, communications director for the Republican majority on the House Select Committee investigation of B******i, explained to WND in an email the next hearing likely will be closed and classified.

He said it’s possible that the subsequent hearing will be open to the public, but he has no details to release, because the decision-making is still in progress.

Retired U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Charles Jones, another commission member, also expressed concerns about Gowdy’s investigation.

“I think Gowdy is serious, and I think he is a real patriot, but I think he has been warned away from the final conclusion or he’s been threatened,” Jones told WND.

“I’ve been working very closely with the Citizens’ Commission, and I think Gowdy, if he doesn’t go any further than he has, has either been warned within the Republican Party or threatened externally.”

Jones said he has concerns whether Boehner is enthusiastic about supporting Gowdy’s investigation, despite the instrumental role the House speaker played in constituting the select committee and his public insistence that Gowdy will get to the t***h of what happened in B******i.

Jones said he called his local congressman, Rep. Joe Heck, R-Nev., and said that if he was interested in the B******i issue, he had some information for him. Heck responded with a couple of handwritten notes indicating he was very interested, according to Jones.

Jones then set up a meeting with Aronoff, Lyons and a couple of other people at Heck’s House office in Washington.

“But at the meeting, Heck became very arrogant and basically not interested, so he cut the meeting short and left,” Jones said.

“That concerned me, because Heck is on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Intelligence Committee, and here was a chance for him to hear from Roger (Aronoff) and some information not many people knew,” Jones said. “But he wasn’t willing to listen; yet I have two notes here from Heck that said he was interested and to keep him informed regarding what was going on.”

Heck’s turnabout caused Jones to question how serious the Republicans in Congress were about an honest search for the t***h.

“The t***h is Boehner only agreed to appoint the Select Committee after a lot of pressure from a lot of people and to put Gowdy in to head it, which is something we all recommended,” Jones said. “But I think Boehner has either given Gowdy the word that enough is enough, or it’s gone above Boehner, and Gowdy’s been threatened.”

Asked directly, Jones agreed with Vallely that t*****rous deeds at the highest level of government were committed regarding B******i and that the Republicans in Congress have joined the Democrats in a continuing cover-up.

“I’m concerned there is something going on between the establishment Republicans in Congress and the Obama administration of not wanting to get to the t***h,” Vallely said. “If you look at the first two public hearings that Gowdy held, they were primarily some very low-level people that weren’t necessarily involved in what happened in B******i. But, really, those first two hearings have been very ineffective in getting to the t***h of what really happened.”

Vallely said he and his colleagues worked 10 months after their first press conference to get Boehner to appoint a select committee.

“Boehner really did not want a select committee. He delayed. He was pressured, and he didn’t think it was necessary,” Vallely said. “For some reason, we believe, Boehner understood from the Obama administration that they did not want to press it, because what we feel now is that Boehner and the Republican leadership in Congress really don’t want to get to the t***h.”

‘Protecting his wife’

Fueling the suspicions of various citizens’ commission members was the severely criticized unanimous report on B******i issued in November by Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., as chairman of the Republican-led House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. The report “found no evidence” to support allegations the Obama administration blocked attempts to send rescue operations to B******i during the assault or sought to mislead the public afterwards.

Citizens commission member John Shaw – a senior partner in the Cambridge Consulting Group, formerly with the Department of Defense from 2001 to 2005, where he served as deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security – explained why he agrees with others on the committee that Boehner and Republicans in Congress are stonewalling the B******i investigation.

On June 23, 2014, Micah Morrison, the lead investigative reporter at Washington-based Judicial Watch, wrote an article suggesting Rogers had been c*********d in the intelligence committee’s B******i investigation because of his wife’s business interests.

“A seven-term Republican from Michigan, Mike Rogers climbed the political ladder to become chairman of the Intelligence Committee in January 2011,” Morrison wrote. “Kristi Rogers, after years of government service in mid-level administrative positions, moved to the private sector, joining the British-based security contractor Aegis Defense Services to help open its U.S. subsidiary. The newsletter Intelligence Online noted that thanks to Ms. Rogers’ efforts, ‘Aegis won several major contracts with the U.S. administration.’”

Shaw pointed out that Aegis in the U.K. had a connection with the February 17 Martyrs Brigade, the Islamic m*****a given the contract in Libya to provide security at the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli and the diplomatic compound in B******i.

“There’s no question in my mind that Rogers c*********d the intelligence committee report on B******i in order to protect his wife,” Shaw said.

“Once the connections come out between Aegis and the February 17 Martyrs Brigade, the information will fry Rogers and his wife publicly in the process,” he said. “I had followed Aegis both in the United States and in England for two years, because I thought the leadership of the group was a problem. The fact is that soon after it became clear there was a connection between Aegis and B******i, a notice came on the Aegis wire claiming Aegis in Washington had nothing to do with any security contract in Libya.”

Shaw explained the connections.

“There was a three-way switch,” he said. “First, Aegis in the U.K. gave the contract to provide the U.S. security services in Libya to another security company called Blue Mountain, based in Wales. Blue Mountain in turn subcontracted the State Department contract to provide security at the U.S. consulate in Libya to the bad guys, the February 17 Martyrs Brigade, the same group that ended up abandoning their posts and joining the bad guys who attacked the CIA compound at B******i where Ambassador Chris Stevens was k**led.”

Ansar al Sharia, the al-Qaida-linked m*****a group that led the B******i assault on the CIA compound, is believed to include former members of the February 17 Martyrs Brigade.

“Ms. Rogers’ rise at Aegis was swift,” Judicial Watch’s Morrison wrote.

“A former press aide to Ambassador Paul Bremer in Iraq and an assistant commissioner for public affairs at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, she was named executive vice president when the U.S. branch opened in 2006,” Morrison continued. “She was promoted to president in 2008 and added the position of CEO in 2009. In 2011, Ms. Rogers was named vice chairman of the company’s board of directors. In December 2012, she left Aegis and joined the law firm Manatt as a managing director for federal government affairs.”

Morrison wrote: “On March 28, Mr. Rogers announced he was stepping down from his safe Congressional seat and committee chairmanship to become a talk radio host. Two weeks earlier, on March 14, Ms. Rogers quietly left Manatt, after a tenure of only thirteen months. Her departure was not announced and her association with the firm has been scrubbed from its website.”

Gang of 8 ‘c*********d’

Shaw said he shares the concerns of others on the commission about “the slowness of the Gowdy investigation.”

“Several of us have raised the question of whether the Republican ‘Gang of Eight’ in Congress somehow think that if the t***h about B******i ever comes out, they will be found to be somehow liable, if it ever comes out that they knew in advance about Obama administration secrets over what really happened in B******i and did nothing to reveal this information to the public,” he said.

The “Gang of Eight” is a reference to eight leaders in the House and Senate who are regularly briefed by the White House on intelligence matters: the speaker of the House and the House minority leader; the Senate majority and minority leaders; and the chairmen and ranking members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

In the recently completed 113th Congress, the following Republicans were in the “Gang of Eight”: House Speaker Boehner; then-Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell; Rogers, as chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence; and Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., as ranking member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

“Why would Gowdy have only one public hearing a month?” Shaw asked. “Once he started, the select committee public hearings should have been relentless, day-after-day, the way the Watergate hearings were, so we would have a buildup.”

Shaw said Gowdy “has all the information we assembled in the citizens’ committee, and we have no sense what he is really about.”

“I thought Gowdy, given his demeanor, was going to go full for the jugular investigating B******i, but it’s clear he’s been held back.”

It was pretty obvious that shortly after the travelling MB's visit to the WH, was the "Arab Spring" in the Mideast; and, the word on-the-street was, shortly after, "America's Fall." But once "WE" quietly switched-sides in 2011, it amazed me that the entire scandal quite expertly was kept under-wraps.

Sure, there were other scandals that could have been drawn from the "race" deck, but, fortunately for progressives, everywhere, nobody said a word that wasn't immediately shuffled-back into-the-deck.

For four years the resurgence of the N**i regime of Islam has been as quiet as the Concentration Camps a half century ago. Damn Japan, making the MSM look stupid by bringing the war close enough for American citizens to get a first-hand look at Europe. Damn Japan!!!

No more N**i rally's at Carnegie Hall. Shoot. No more telling America that; "Hitler was the best thing to ever happen to Germany." No more telling America that; "there was just a little problem with the Jews." Damn Japan. Now what??? Same old, same old; can't beat 'em, join 'em!!! F**e outrage all over the place!!! Damn Japan!!!

Well, 4 years after our commander quietly switched sides, FINALLY, the "Japan" moment!!! Islam, a faction of the N**i forces, has just tried to conquered Western Europe. How did THAT get out??? Simple. Paris, France just had a "Japan" moment!!!

Our MSM "watchdog," could no longer keep a finger pointed at the F & F, or the IRS, or B******i, or - wh**ever. The "cat was out-of-the-bag." The "toothpaste was out-of-the-tube." Japan made another debut; this time in Paris!!! And THIS time it was Islam. Damn Japan!!! Don't EVER say damn Islam!!! We didn't switch sides for nothing!!!

I've Been Waiting For This Shoe To Drop!!! Don't ... (show quote)

Not much of one for history huh? The US Gov. used a convicted Mafia Don in WWII to combat sabotage on the docks, not to mention supplying the Soviet Union with military equipment during the same conflict. There are countless examples of the US Gov. in collusion with it's enemies, for one reason or another.

Remember the US Congressman who championed arming the jihadists in Afghanistan? That was to get the USSR out of there, true, but we wound up fighting against our own weapons in the same place, doing the same thing we accused the Russians of doing. It is the nature of Governments to be perfidious and fickle and the list of our "enemies" tends to change from one administration to another and from one Congress to the next.

There's nothing to see here folks, move along.

And Obama was quick to reward the Charlie Hebeo terrorists by immediately releasing five terrorists from Gitmo immediately after their attack succeeded.

Read the article you posted, it was complimentary to the article Don posted.

Your comments wow duplicitous nature of a two party system, spot on.. I still want the American dream for my children and the ability to give my government the benefit of doubt.
It is so disheartening.
