I'm on the very end of the BBs, so some of the old hippie days were done while I was watching Sesame Street. I did get to have fun with some of the hippie years though

It was fun. If I had heard of Woodstock a day earlier I could have stuck on New York freeway for a weekend.

I went to Woodstock! Friday and Saturday. We left when it started to pour on Saturday late morning. It's an amazing memory! Half a million people...a sea of people as far as you could look! I even picked up a ticket I found on the ground just to look at it...and then threw it away! 😐 I think they are worth money today!

It was a high point of a generation. That you were there is amazing.

Wow I would love to hear more of those stories Emily. I watch the movie at least once a year and I own all the soundtrack albums and all the playlists on Spotify.

As I said, we left Friday afternoon came back Saturday late morning (it was a few hours drive each way from where we lived)....but of course nobody slept! Richie Havens is the music that starts playing in my head when I think of it! A lot of it is a big blur. We only realized how BIG the crowd was getting on Saturday when it got light.

It was outdoors, and we were tired and it had rained all night and we weren't prepared for that so we headed home. Looking back I realize it was a good time to leave - the next day was a nightmare. At the time, the music was actually secondary. The crowd was so big and it was hard to see the musicians from where we were. We were so young...early 20's!

That's really about the size of it.

If I had known what it was going to turn into, I would have paid more attention! LOL!

Some people follow the Social Justice teachings of Jesus Christ.

And some people are like you.
Their hearts have grown old and frozen.

Then you missed what was happening on the streets in America and around the world in 1969.

That begins to explain how you were drawn into the MAGA CULT.
Cults target the naive and unaware of the world.
You are a prime example.

Manson’s troop is another example.

Yes...that was much more on our minds than Democrats and Republicans. We blamed the war on the whole government....

You might remember "Antidisestablishmentarianism"?? That's what my friends and I thought was happening. We compared it to a chess game, where our sons, husbands and brothers were the pawns, and the government was the chess players.
