There is a quite old song, No One Has Seen The Trouble I’ve Seen. Today it is changed to, No One Has Seen The I***ts I’ve Seen, thus our lesson the Constitution.

The First Amendment states:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

No where in that amendment is the phrase separation of church and state

What the amendment does do is it protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government interference. It prohibits any laws that establish a national religion or impede the free exercise of religion.

The phrase separation of church and state was in a letter TJ wrote to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802.

When discussing religion, while referencing the Constitution, the correct wording is establishment clause.

Thus endth your Constitutional 101 course.

First their mantra was keep it in your churches. Then it became keep it in your home. Now, it is becoming you cannot have religion except for worship of the government.

Excellent summary. We are rapidly heading back to the way it was when Jesus walked this earth, If you do not declare Caesar as God, you will be in big trouble.

No wait , there’s more .
TJ fought very hard to keep religion and corporate power away from his government.
His reasoning was either one could gain enough power to usurp the power of the people.
Do you understand?
Should I go on ?
Usurping the power bestowed with the People .
Of the People
By the People
For the People !!!!
Where are we today ?????
Are there corporations running your government?!
What is Citizens United to you ?
Allowing foreigners to donate money into your e******ns ??
Are religions trying to have the 10 commandments
Written into the Constitution ????!
How are the People fairing with your latest government. ?
Has the Supreme Court decided anything that will benefit you ???
If not , why not ???

Ignoring this useless screed.

Yes, they have. In another 9-0 decision, they found the government is not immune to being sued.

Unfortunately, civics/government is no longer a “core” subject in the uneducation system.

And this benefits you how , personally ???
Can we sue to have Clarence Thomas and his I**********nist Wife taken off the Supreme Court ????
Seems like a breach of trust to have I**********nists sitting on the highest court in the land , while their wives were involved in a serious I**********n !
Thomas should at least recuse himself from any
J/6 cases !

My lot in life seems to be explains simply matters to the simple minded.

In the past, the US government was held immune from suits by citizens. With the 9-0, decision, that immunity is removed. One prime example would be the EPA’s overreach involving water. Another would be, B*M’s decisions on use of Federal lands by citizens. Multiple cases against both these agencies have been held the agencies were immune from suit. Such is no longer the case.

As we are a Republic, the continued effort by simpletons to redefine government has become tiresome.

The Department of Uneducation has no authority to define curriculum. They may only write letters of recommendation on such matters; therefore, again, and as usual, you are wrong,

In point of fact, it is only in the past several years that schools have completely removed a requirement for a course in civics.

I don’t see that anywhere.
Corporations originally had a 10 year lifespan , after that they needed to dissolve .

Yes and that is sad because the current generation of teens and post teens need this brought back at least in HS as a req for graduation.
