Very typical l*****t response - Blaming Trump for what they have done and lying through their teeth. Of course crime isn't a problem due to the border. How could anyone think that letting millions of unvetted i******s into the Country and giving them phones and credit cards would be dangerous? This many murders and robberies and shootings committed by i******s across the Country must be just in the imagination of the conservatives.

And don't forget no bail, no jail in NYS.

Bob, hopefully, in due time we'll see that pen-stripes would be a good look on The Donald.

Trump whines and cries as he's spanked on Border Security
Frank Vyan Walton, author
by Frank Vyan Walton

The Lincoln Project has put up a devastating ad blasting Trump for undermining border security and putting our nation at risk.

Trump wants our economy to fail and the border to be in chaos, all for his own political gain. The GOP is willing to assist him, at the cost of our national security.

The Republican Party has shown you their hand time and time again. Stop shaking it.

This has prompted the great Orange snake to spit forth even more fresh venom.

(at this point trump ranted on about facts he could not slither out of,, follow the link if you wish)

The simple fact is, nearly all of this response is a lie.

Trump claims '“They didn’t happen to mention anything about the 18,000,000 I*****l A***ns that will have invaded our Country” — but they do mention them. They accuse Trump of helping those migrants by blocking the bi-partisan border deal from the Senate which would allow the border to be closed if too many migrants arrive.

Trump claims “Nor did they talk about the drugs pouring into the USA in amounts so large that no one,” but in the ad they accuse Trump of being on the same side as the drug traffickers and the “Coyotes” who implement human trafficking.

So he didn’t watch the ad. He has no idea what’s actually in it.

Drugs and f******l are a serious problem, but in point of fact, migrants aren’t responsible for that problem.

In 2021, U.S. citizens were 86.3 percent of convicted f******l drug traffickers—ten times greater than convictions of i*****l i*******ts for the same offense.

The rate of immigrants who commit crimes is dramatically less than the rate of crime by U.S. Citizens.

In 2018, the i*****l i*******t criminal conviction rate was 782 per 100,000 i*****l i*******ts, 535 per 100,000 legal immigrants, and 1,422 per 100,000 native‐born Americans. The i*****l i*******t criminal conviction rate was 45 percent below that of native‐born Americans in Texas. The general pattern of native‐born Americans having the highest criminal conviction rates followed by i*****l i*******ts and then with legal immigrants having the lowest holds for all of other specific types of crimes such as violent crimes, property crimes, homicide, and sex crimes.

And terrorism is a legitimate threat, but there has never been a terrorist attack attempted by someone who crossed the Southern Border.

there have been zero terrorist attacks on U.S. soil by i*****l i*******ts or asylum seekers who crossed that border.

So even though these issues involving migrants has been heavily hyped, they’re not a real problem.

Even Trump’s calling these migrants “I*****l A***ns” is wrong because “8 U.S. Code § 1325 - Improper entry by alien” is not a criminal offense.

Any alien who is apprehended while entering (or attempting to enter) the United States at a time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil penalty of—

(1) at least $50 and not more than $250 for each such entry (or attempted entry); or

(2) twice the amount specified in paragraph (1) in the case of an alien who has been previously subject to a civil penalty under this subsection

Crossing the border to seek asylum is a completely legal process under 8 U.S. Code § 1158.

Any alien who is physically present in the United States or who arrives in the United States (whether or not at a designated port of arrival and including an alien who is brought to the United States after having been interdicted in international or United States waters), irrespective of such alien’s status, may apply for asylum in accordance with this section or, where applicable, section 1225(b) of this title.

Entering the U.S. for asylum is legal. Improper entry is a CIVIL offense, it’s not criminal. It’s not a crime, It’s not illegal. It doesn’t become criminal unless someone re-enters after they’ve been deported.

Calling these people “I*****l A***ns” makes no sense because nothing here is illegal.

Even those who enter and don’t seek asylum, but are merely assigned a court date for their deportation hearing — have not broken the law. They’ve merely committed an infraction. The penalty is merely a fine.

Most importantly it’s a blatant lie that the border is “Open” because it is simply not. Most of the migrants encountered by Border Patrol are being expelled and blocked from entry. The Border Patrol’s own statistics prove this

For FY23 they have 1.505,581 Arrested under Title 8 and 550,278 Expelled under Title 42. [From Lower right corner of the chart]

That totals to 2,055,089 people for just that year.

That's quite the OPINION piece. It's an opinion, like yours, based in falsehoods. The bipartisan bill was defeated in bipartisan fashion. The democrats thought it was too harsh on the i******s, the rest of America thinks that letting in 5,000 a day is too soft on i******s.

Opinions can and are formed by t***h as well as the orange lies..

the bill was a done deal to pass, but trump demanded it be blocked.

the 5,000 was about immigrants, not only i******s and not a goal but an alarm point..

Just how do you count I******s , it seems everyone who enters the US is counted as an illegal by the right wing..

Permafrost, I know you have a tough time understanding things so I will try to explain it to you. A legal alien applies for an entry visa at a US Embassy in their home country. After meeting certain qualifications, the visa gets approved and they are allowed to enter our country.
Everyone who enters the US by crossing our boarders by any other means is counted as an i*****l a***n and therefore, a criminal because it is ILLEGAL to just swim across the Rio Grand river and come into our country. I hope that explanation isn't too complicated for you.

The bill was never a done deal. Say it's Trumps fault if you want to, I don't care. Letting in 5,000 people a day is utter stupidity...that's over 1.8 million people a year. I count the CBP numbers.

1.8 million i******s per year is fewer than this administration is allowing to enter. My ideal would be 0.

Apprehensions refers to the physical control or temporary detainment of a person who is not lawfully in the U.S. which may or may not result in an arrest.

The law states that they MUST be detained until their court date. They are not being detained by this administration. Your graph also doesn't account for "got aways" either. CBP estimates that they only catch 5%-10% of f******l smuggled across by i*****l a***ns.

Data shows that most illicit f******l is smuggled into the U.S. through the southern border and, specifically, through Ports of Entry (POEs) and by U.S. citizens. Maritime borders are also susceptible to f******l smuggling.Oct 25, 2023
