Just like everything else they touch, Democrats can take something that started with noble intentions, and totally screw it up beyond anything imaginable.

President Reagan started the Lifeline (now called Obamaphone) program in 1984 as a way to make sure people who were actively pursuing work had a way for companies to contact them. Like I said, noble intentions. Americans should help those in need especially people who are making an active effort to get back on their feet.

Fast forward to today; Democrats have expanded this program to the point where; if you have a pulse, you qualify for a free phone. This program is funded by citizens who not only pay for their own minutes, they pay for quite a few others as well. Your bill has a Universal Service Charge, otherwise known as a more free s**t charge. Today, there are more than 3,000 vendors in the US supplying Obamaphones. The USC (that would be you if you don’t have an Obamaphone) pays close to $8 billion a year in free phones and minutes.

I have no idea what Democrats plan to do when they’re out of other people’s money to spend but I suspect we’re almost to that point. Time to rein in stupidity.
