Really, how would you drop the cost of healthcare?

1) Do what Stalin did, pluck off the feathers of a little sparrow in his hand until it shivered in the cold, demanding socialized medicine?

2) Pass Obamacare, Speaker Nancy Pelosi's 2,700 page bill that nobody read making healthcare Affordable, Affordable, Affordable? (It's not too affordable right now, is it?)

3) Quarantine citizens state by state and let their Legislature choose an insurance policy for them under the 1945 McCarren-Ferguson Act?

4) Overturn the McCarren-Ferguson Act and foment interstate commerce across all 50 state lines to facilitate competition and the purchasing of any variety of health insurance desired?

5) Open up Health Savings Accounts for all citizens to return cost and quality control to the consumer?

Just curious. What would you do?

None of the above -- Medicare for all regardless of their economic situation .

None of the above. My solution would have to come in two parts:
The first step is a federal flat tax across the board, and limiting the government to ONLY using THAT income for government operation. Any necessary taxes needed for other purposes, such as tariffs, fines, and other such, would go to paying down the national debt. The federal government would NO LONGER be allowed to borrow money.
The second part would be the government pays ALL medical and medicine bills for American citizens AS A LONG term low interest loan. DOCTORS would make the decisions, the government would pay immediately, the patient would pay the government back, but would also have the right to buy medical insurance in a free market to help with repaying the government. The IRS would shift from a tax collection agency to primarily a medical bill collection agency.
Details matter, and would have to be worked out.

Sounds good to me but the Demonocrats would not go along with that because you're eliminating some of their avenues of corruption. That's why they h**e Trump. Lie-beral Demonocrats/RINOs are PRO-CORRUPTION; the almighty LOVE OF MONEY !!!

Eventually the entity that's paying the bill, will DEMAND more and more control over your life.
Sorry Tom, not sure I like this idea.

Ask for the constitutional justification for any federal involvement in health care.

Health Freedom is the answer. Right now the AMA and FDA have a vice like grip on everything and God help the practitioner who comes up with a protocol that works but does not involve drugs.

Ok fine --I have had no problems with the VA medical system even though I hear complaints all the time . If you have a program idea that will cover 100% of the people lets hear it instead of ranking me down.--

Exactly. Look what they did with Social Security! Original intent:
1. Voluntary
2. Not more than 2% income contribution
3. Will stay it's own fund and NEVER be used for a general fund.

Since the government got ahold of it it is not voluntary, more than 2% and was used for a general fund.

Yes, let's let the government control health care. You are 100% correct, they will screw it up as they do everything else.

One of the first things, let's get to the cause. Stop the food companies from putting bad chemicals in our food that is causing illness.
Control insurance company.rates. they are one of the most profitable companies out there. Don't allow them to be public corps as they now have to provide profits. Get on the drug companies who are also for profit. Yes, research costs.money but the day after the money is made to cover that cost, the cost lowers. Don't allow them to be for.profit.
Getting people healthy is the first step to saving medical dollars. Will be the next best step in my opinion.

Oh, I absolutely agfRee! But even non-conservative Republicans would fight such a plan. Flat taxes with NO loopholes or deductions? Even the rare HONEST Congress critter just LOOOOOOVES to play the 'social engineering' game. Let's boost home sales by giving home owners a deduction. Then lets boost the child birth rate. Then we will encourage oil drilling, then we'll discourage it. NONE of them will willingly give up that power. So we will have to make them.
The immutable laws of supply and demand should be the rule. Other laws should ONLY apply for safety and the environment.
