I did not read Ivanhoe in HS either. I read it for pleasure. I was academic college curriculum in HS and classic English literature was not a requirement. I read the classics because I liked them. I did not get the opportunity to go to college. My mother and I worked very hard just for me to get two years of technical school, post HS, which career wise ended up being largely a waste.

I will say I am surprised at your age. I definitely profile people by their choices of words and phrases, and I guessed you much younger. Have a pleasant evening.

Well, in my head I’m still 35, but wh**ever. You also have a good evening. We’ll have a pot of beans I have cooking, and tomorrow my partner and I together with another couple are going over to Pt. Reyes till Thursday to a house we rented on Tomales Bay.

I am 68 and today I felt much older. I used to be quite proud of my physical strength and stamina, even up to about 7 years ago. I volunteered at a food pantry. Being one of the men I carry the heavy loads the younger women are scared to attempt. I can still do that. However, when it comes to just doing the mundane restocking of the shelves, I could not keep up with the younger women mentally or physically.

I had to keep taking breaks as they merrily kept going at twice my speed. I have finally stopped lying to myself that I am not old. Everyone works at their own speeds. We are volunteers. They will not fire us. We have a good crew. We have to. If we don't get along, the job doesn't get done.

I’ve always had balance problems, no doubt from when I took a header off a truck bed onto a concrete driveway when I was 8. Knocked me out an hour or so. It’s worse now and I use a cane for longer walks, but I still manage. My partner is 92 and is in better shape than I am but there you are.

You know old people are very boring and dull. All we seem to do is talk about are our aches and pains. Have a good Super Bowl afternoon.

The Super Bowl/Taylor Swift hysteria sweeping the country is a little scary. Only crazy people would pay $12,000 to watch a football game in the nosebleed section. I bet if the 49ers lose, there will be burning cars on Market Street.

I was hoping for the 49ers, but I must give Mahomes credit for playing well when it counted. I am a Phila. Eagles fan and we never forgave Andy Reid for not winning a Super Bowl when he coached the Eagles. He had the talent on the team, but watching them lose games they should have won is one of many reasons that all Philadelphia sports fans are the worst fans in the universe.

Yea that and the 1964 Phillies. Back then the villain was Gene Mauch. That man began the great Philadelphia tradition of stomping on sports fans hearts by going on a losing streak at the end of the season and not winning the pennant, when they had it all but sewn up. The Great Philadelphia Choke began with Gene Mauch.

So Far No reports of any car burnings in either KC in celebration or in SF for disgruntled 49er fans. I lost my bet with my kids and I have to make a playlist for them with nothing older than 5yrs old including Usher, Taylor, Post Malone and other contemporaries....Oh Well at least a good OlTexan was the winning QB...the P***e of Smith Co. Texas and Texas, Tech the RedRaider Patrick Mahomes 3 rings in 6yr career High5 and congrats to the KC Faithful.
