Otherwise, just another ELWNJ rant.

Is the fact that s*******s Trump can still be a p**********l candidate proof that the American democracy is deeply flawed and needs to be reformed? (You might want to get comfortable for this one)

Trump’s utter lack of shame and decency have shown that a lot of things we thought were laws are actually just norms that every other president adhered to, but Trump simply ignores. That needs to be cleaned up. And his endless frivolous lawsuits intended to do nothing more than delay his inevitable conviction show that our legal system needs to be improved to protect against serial criminals with the money to delay justice.

But we the real problem is… us.

It is beyond belief that a man out on bail in four different jurisdictions, a man who had to fly back from winning the Iowa caucus to a NY courtroom where a jury will decide how much he has to pay the woman he raped, defamed, and then defamed again. It is beyond belief that the leading candidate for the Republican nomination is also the biggest single threat to our national security, a man who now admits that yes he did have “papers” he stole from the White House — despite having sworn the FBI must have planted them. It is beyond belief that crazy Rudy owes $148 million for his job in destroying the lives of two Georgia poll workers by telling baseless lies about them, but the man he did it for — a man who spread those same lies from the biggest bully pulpit in the world — is thinking about the Oval Office and not the poor house.

Let’s not blame this on democracy. To end the Trump infestation, all we have to do is say — with apologies to Nancy Reagan — NO. If you believe the various insider accounts, 80% of Congressional Republicans h**e the fool, but they pretend otherwise because they know if they don’t they will get primaried and pilloried by the Cult. People of courage and conviction like Liz Cheney are thrown out of the party and shunned. All because 1/3 of the country has somehow decided that the greatest crime spree in American history shouldn’t be disqualifying for the highest office in the land.

We have looked the enemy in the eye, and it is us. Democracy may need a little sprucing up, but it is we the people who need reformation.

The ability to throw enough money to avoid justice has been a fact of life for trump from the age of his first gift making him a millionaire at the age of 8.. daddy gave him all that in order to gain a tax deduction and still control the money.. donnie was well schooled in the art of stringing out the courts..

It has worked dozens if not hundreds of times to out spend the law or buy out the injured.

Now at a time of crisis in America he uses the same tactic of burning time as long as possible and avoiding a trial, at least until after the e******n.. he thinks winning the office will absolve him of prosecution. but that is another item.

This is about the ability to string out the justice coming for him endlessly buy the frivolous appeals and motions to the court as was pointed out by slatten and the writer..

No way is that the concept that the founding fathers intended when they spock of justice in the America they created.. All such attempt are only to avoid facing the charges of his misdeeds.

we need to cut the foolishness and lock the SOB up... sooner rather than later..

Slat, buddy, you should pick someone a little more accurate than this Rudlin character for an op/ed. In the first place, Trump was NEVER convicted of raping anyone. With zero physical evidence, Carroll managed to convince a jury of Trump h**ers that he sexually assaulted her nearly thirty years ago. The statute of limitations had long since expired, and was temporarily set aside for this ONE CASE ONLY.
E Jean Carroll has made a ton of money off of her bogus claims. No witnesses, no evidence. Witch hunt enabled by passing a special exception to the statute of limitations. This woman had more than two decades to bring charges, and did not until enabled by special treatment to bring baseless, witness-and-evidence-free charges.
Now the woman wants more money because Trump protested a verdict based on hearsay; where the prosecution's only witness is the alleged victim who waited nearly thirty years to say anything. Cases like this get thrown out by the truckload every time a court is in session, unless the Manhattan Inquisition is in charge.

Very hard to believe!

An ex-military man sides with a t*****r and continuously attacks a patriot!

I would point out that anyone who questions Slat's patriotism is wrong. He is a decorated combat veteran. I won't go into his history, but he has been there and done that.
