The competition was fierce. Marjorie Taylor Greene with her Jewish space lasers causing California wildfires and picking fights in bathrooms and on the House floor. Lauren Boebert with her horny high school behavior in a public theater. Jim Jordan - the GOP attack dog - refusing to obey a Congressional subpoena and then whining when his own was ignored. And then Matt Gaetz, George Santos and even Elise Stefanik - once a respected moderate voice - now just a ventriloquist’s dummy on Trump’s lap.
But Kentucky Republican James Comer is the clear champion. As chairman of the prestigious House Oversight and Accountability Committee, Comer publicly announced that the focus of the committee would be on the “Biden crime family” and its questionable dealings with foreign interests. But it is almost as if he opened a restaurant called “Promises, Promises” and then failed to deliver. Instead of serving up the Democratic President on a platter, Comer has instead been selling a nothingburger with “wild claims” sauce and a side order of “sound and fury signifying nothing” fries. James Comer has taken a page from Donald Trump’s infrastructure book, always asserting on his many appearances on right-wing media that something good was right around the corner. But like Trump’s infrastructure plans, nothing has ever materialized.
After a year of hearings and millions of taxpayer dollars spent, here is what Comer has come up with: H****r B***n - a private American citizen - worked for Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company. Not illegal. They paid him a lot of money. Not illegal. The money he was paid by them and other entities was distributed to business partners and into various LLCs, or “shell companies”. Standard business practices - not illegal. H****r B***n may have let his employers and other associates believe that doing business with him - the American Vice-President's son - would increase their chances of profitable relationships with US interests. Nothing illegal about that, either. The applicable Latin phrase is “Caveat emptor”.
Here’s the thing that makes Comer look really foolish. Witness after witness has testified that Joe Biden never discussed business with any of his son’s associates or investors. Even with boxes and boxes of bank records, there is no paper trail linking Joe Biden to any of H****r’s deals. And just to add a little icing to the cake, recently evidence has been produced that Comer himself may have been playing fast and loose with the law when it came to setting up and using shell companies of his own. And looming over all is Comer’s refusal to spend one minute or one dollar investigating the much larger corruption and foreign dealing issues of the Trump crime family. With H****r B***n, the dollar figures bandied about are in the $15 to $20 million range. Trump received millions from foreign governments and entities in direct violation of the Constitution’s Foreign Emoluments Clause, and Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner - who were officially members of Trump’s administration - pulled in somewhere between $170 and $640 million while in office and over $2 billion since.
Nice work, James. Way to protect the American people from corrupt politicians.

Interesting post and I agree, Mr Comer is I'm afraid clueless.
