I less that a working day, St Paul changed the future of the capital city for Minnesota..

with a nine person city council, the city has been dealing with a myriad of assorted problems and seems to solve none of them..

Now, yesterday, the v**ers replaced the entire city council.. filled all nine chairs with the smiling faces and earnest eyes of 9 faces of many colors and hopes..

With affordable housing and law enforcement both near the top of the list they expect to make lasting changes in the city policies.. Lets hear the cheer for these fine ladies..

When St. Paul’s new City Council is sworn in on Tuesday, all of its seats will be filled by women for the first time in the city’s 170-year history. Some say that St. Paul may well be the largest American city to ever elect an all-female council or legislative body.

“I think we’ve been writing this story for a while,” Hwa Jeong Kim said after winning e******n to the council in November. “To place yourself in the middle of this timeline, it feels very historic.”

Like her six colleagues, Kim has a list of several women elected to office who served as her mentors. And those women also credit female leaders for wisdom and guidance.

“There are people that have come before us that have envisioned this happening in some regard and have been investing in the change around women running for office,” Kim said. “They’ve been speaking it into existence years before a squad of ladies decided to run together.”

Here’s a look at some of the 20 women who have been elected to the St. Paul City Council over the past seven decades, along with the four incoming members who are making history this week.

Saw this on the news. Good for them!
I'll bet between all of them, they can't milk a cow, churn butter, gut a deer, or hog, or iron a shirt properly.
Do you reckon that City Council can come to a consensus on how biscuits, and gravy should be made? How bout black eyed peas with snaps from the garden?
That's OK.
Every men's room will have free tampons in them.
Not sure where the men are gonna put em, though. I mean, that's a mighty big plug for a small hole, and all. Unless they plan to size em down some for men.
But then....how's the man gonna pee around that tampon since his pee hole is plugged? It's a real head scratcher for me since men are only two holers down there. Wimmin got three.
See, wimmin have three. They're three holers down there.
They got a bung hole, a fun/baby hole, and a pee hole. They can put a plug in the fun/baby hole for a bit, and still pee.

I'm just curious about how this works.

Maybe you can enlighten me some. I'm open to suggestions.

Have a good evening permi!

I left out a lot there, permi.

Sew on a button? Kiss a boo boo? Tell a kid to quit crying, rub some dirt on it, and get back in the game? Change the oil in the truck? Split fire wood?
Many more to add, but most importantly, hold the flashlight where you need it?

WHat do you mean by "worked"? and I think it has worked quite well here in Minnesota.. but we do not have the number of minorities some other areas do.. We had very good results with Hmong.. not so much with native Americans.. nasty thing we did in the old days..

Now days we do have a large mix but the numbers in each group are pretty low.. one problem they as always tend to group with fellow ethnic people so the problems become localized and the desire to remedy the problem has little interest other then with the locals.. getting others interested to solve a local problem is difficult regardless of nationality or any other factor if the group is Identifiable, many others want to leave them to their own solutions..

What makes you feel diversity has never worked.. do you think that mixing would be mentioned in the history of any people? also the world is now getting filled, back n the day, people could find space to stay with their origin..

Of course we do have events that show no mixing at all.. One time at least the Peninsula of Greece was k**led off nearly to the last child,, but the details are so hard to pin down.. Per the Mag azine "Archeology" which my son gifted me with for several years.. very interesting..

So, I suppose to me the argument is far from settled, not even stated well yet.. but I would like to hear what you have to say..

change the oil or just check it is a real world problem. dang.. I like the rub dirt on it fix... works well.

If diversity is such a great thing, how come some plants, and animals are labeled as an "invasive species", and controlled here?

Is it because you can't bring there to here without here becoming there?

MMMM, I will ponder that the next time I see a prickly pear cactus growing out doors in minnesota..

Dandy lions must be the super star of invasive plants.. And yet a fellow not far from us had the gonads to keep 500 lb Tiger for years.. at least he did not plant him in Minnesota..
