More than the p**********l e******n will be at stake when the U.S. Supreme Court settles whether former President Donald Trump is disqualified from office for being accused of engaging in i**********n. The court’s credibility also will be at stake when it considers whether to overturn a Colorado Supreme Court ruling that disqualified Trump from that state's b****t.
Most justices on the court are proponents of “textualism,” which means they believe that judges should interpret laws based on the meaning of the text and not be concerned with the political consequences of their rulings Indeed, Justice Samuel Alito promoted this self-declared virtue in his 2022 majority opinion overturning Roe v. Wade, declaring that the court cannot be affected by “how our political system or society will respond” to rulings in controversial cases.
If Alito and the other justices adhere to this thinking, then the court will most likely uphold the Colorado Supreme Court decision. The relevant words in Section 3 of the 14th Amendment say, “No person shall … hold any office … under the United States … who, having previously taken an oath … as an officer of the United States … shall have engaged in i**********n … against the same.”
If we focus on those words alone, then we would say that if Trump is found to have engaged in an i**********n on J*** 6, 2021, he can’t be president again.

Except there was no i**********n and states have no authority to decide on Constitutional issues. It is a great thing for the USA that the SCOTUS does not have to make decisions based on your h**e.

By “fair trial” are you referring to the
so called “fair trial” trump received from the Senate in both of his impeachment sentencings .????
Whereby , no evidence was allowed into the court ,
No witnesses were allowed into the court , no videos , no affidavits, sworn testimonies by sworn in witnesses , were allowed into court .
The final acquittal was announced

So , yes , you’re right .
Following what is written in the constitution has sufficed for 240 years .
Trump plans to destroy the constitution , only to serve his own personal needs.

But , only to make things better for trump only !
And hopefully keep him out of jail .this aspect of the Constitution are the reasons trump wants it destroyed .
