truly fine Thanksgiving day... two tables filled with the visitors... all had a great gab time.. But I had nothing to say..

Yet after a short thankful prayer for giving us Joe to save our nation, the food rush went on and on..
Later, lovely lady that she is that married gal who lives with me, said that even with the .99 cent turkey the feast was a couple bucks more costly that other years. most of that cash went to the Salmon loaf which is a must have at our house.. so no one cared much.. and the lady did nearly ALL the work by herself,, but for the Granddaughter helping she would have had none.. the wonderful Great granddaughter decided I am at last OK and she gave me hugs and even sat with me to look at a book about a dog adrift in the sea.. big brother said she had to read it and so we did..

Also , wife demanded that I make it clear that higher costs were real and we also paid them... example.. over the summer we rebuilt a deck into a porch sort of .. the deck, victem of a falling ice dam last winter, maybe the snowest of all in the near 50 years we have laid claim to this bit of the world.. and it was a mind numbing expense. But it is a very nice project.. the UPS driver complimented it and asked for the name of the builder.. so more work for the workers..

Then the true frustration.. Furice/boiler... at 7 years old I think it should still be in prestene condition.. and has never given any problem.. but this year would not start.. So, got on the list for service..I have been on many a list but this one was erratating as heck..

So after near a month of waiting some guy came out.. nice fellow.. asked me to stay with him while he worked so he would not be lonely... I complied as I like to watch those who enter my home as strangers.. and the boiler work was near the gun rack so I stood near, got to the ready stage, considered the Aim stage, but felt I did not need that...

In the casual conversation the guy used a super duper tablet which told him what to do.. after a bit and interrupting the fishing discussion, he said it was strange but minor and the fix would not be over $600,,, something about extra paper work.. so got it done,, minor adjustment done by me in the following week...good to go..

Got the statement..yes, it was not $600... only $58and a bit.. geez.. truly about 45 min of labor for the fellow..
But now we are warm and just in time.. Tday got up to 24 degrees in the PM and we were all happy..

But as wife insisted I reveal.. the new costs are truly high even for those who live in near wilderness.

so I hope all who made it to this, the following day after thanksgiving can remember that we all endure the problems of life and we should do our best to enjoy these best days of our lives..
