In this video, Jewish Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro explains
what it means to be Jewish, and how the religious (Orthodox) Jews (those who actually believe in God) view
Z*****m as antithetical to Judaism.
He defines the problem very simply. "If Israel is the state of the Jewish people, that's a very big problem for everybody. If Israel is the state of the Israeli's, that's the start of the peace process."
He delves into the subject of
"Christian Z*****ts" (of which there are many here on OPP), which is a subject that is further expounded upon in an article by James Perloff which is linked below.

Apparently, only you and I think so!
Ah, one more convert I see! Progress, slow but sure.

Convert to what? You do realize that article is long on opinion and makes many assumptions that I haven’t seen to be true. Some t***h yes - rather like the Scofield bible. Lol.
Christians are not immune to believing conspiracy theories.

Rose, there is a big difference between being a practicing Jew and being Jewish.
Israel is the state of Israeli citizens, not the Jews. The Jews are not a monolithic block. If you accept the Pew Research Center Study, nearly 50% of Jews (Hilonim) comprise this sub-catogory, and 40% of them don't even believe in God! Hilonim see being Jewish as a matter of
ancestry and culture rather than as a matter of religion.
Haredim are the most religiously devout group in Israel, and some have long felt
there should not have been the establishment of a formal Jewish state before the arrival of the Messiah.I urge you to watch the video below. I mentioned this in a previous post. Jewish Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro addresses the
difference between Judiasm and Z*****m, and the difference between a
"holy land" and a "homeland", and a whole host of other issues.
At the 22 min mark, he talks about what he feels is the key to starting peace in the middle east.
"If Israel is the state of the Jewish people, that's a very big problem for everybody. If Israel is the state of the Israeli's, that's the start of the peace process." I fully agree with his statement!

I know there is a difference and have heard various opinions - from rabbis and others - on the matter. I will try and watch the video and see if it has any new information to add.
Jews have various factions just as Christians do.
