Recently a discussion on how Pennsylvania is booming while UpState NY is deteriorating economically because Rant and Rave Governor Cuomo follows the old NY Democratic party line of not developing Upstate NY into a booming economy. Programs, programs and giveaway is the order of the day so to speak but no booming economy in NY State. However, Pennsylvania is economically booming. Anyone?

Pa might be doing exceptionally well because of the casinos recently built...I don't see the deterioration of upstate NY...where did you get that ? Also, casinos will be built in upstate NY within a few years...Cuomo is pretty popular in NY...even amongst republicans

my two cents worth: I live in western NY, and yes cuomo is a bane to all but his pals and the legions of welfare dependents in the downstate area. You can drive through almost any small (or large) town in western NY and witness many vacant stores, and potholes in many roads. Cuomo was involved neck deep in the bogus bank bailouts (secretary of HUD),he recently has been using millions in taxpayer money to fund his NY is "open for business" blah, blah campaign, which has essentially been a publicity program to promote his ree******n. Not to mention (but I will) his morlin (sp?) commission, which he activated to root out corruption in new york politics,oh,until the trail led to him,at which point he promptly shut it down. My point is,the dude is as corrupt as they come.

It's been approved for upstate NY....there is something very wrong with people here that they wish death on others...I guess that's just the conservative way of thinking...especially the religious right

Upstate NY has been economically depressed since the end of WW11 and its been so long that everybody thinks its doing fine but subsists on State and Federal programs, unemployment and food stamps. Toss in tourism and hard winters and they remain Democratic v****g beneficiaries of State largesse, government programs and entitlements. No one here has mentioned "JOBS" so far, Casinos yes but Jobs no. Let me ask the wizards as to who is going to gamble Upstate? The few jobs the casinos create will do nothing to sustain economic growth similar to Pennsylvania. This last e******n gave 40% to the Republicans for a candidate that few people knew. Rant and Rave Governor Cuomo almost doubled the number of NRA members and got arms companies in NY State since the revolution to leave for parts South along with the jobs.

Casinos in upstate NY would create thousands of jobs...and would be a guaranteed success...it should have happened a long time ago...eventually it will...they need it

How is it going to help anything when people spend their food money in casinos, and can't feed their familys? Oh, thats right! Me, and many like me will d**g our asses out of bed and go to WORK to do it for them.

Anitagav

If Cuomo is doing so well please answer why thousands are moving out of New York State. Could it be high taxes and fewer employment opportunities? Florida now has a larger population than New York.
