Japan getting fixed wing capable aircraft carriers.

I wonder wonder wonder, why Japan is getting back into the aircraft carrier business ? I just can't figure out why ? What other country in that neck of the woods could have caused Japan to spend $ billions on these ships. Such a mystery.

https://www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2023/10/japan-prepares-for-f-35b-carrier-operations/

" Exactly two years ago, a U.S. Marine Corps F-35B conducted the first ever takeoff and landing test on JS Izumo. The event marked the first time since the Imperial Japanese Navy that a fixed wing aircraft took off from a Japanese vessel.

On August 31 2023, the Japanese Ministry of Defense announced its fiscal year 2024 defense budget request with $52.9 billion (7.7 trillion yen), the largest one to date. Earlier budget plans poured necessary funds to modify the two existing “Helicopter Destroyers” of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), JS Izumo (DDH-183) and JS Kaga (DDH-184) into a pair of aircraft carriers as well as purchasing 42 Lockheed Martin F-35B Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) fighters for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). Japan and China are not friendly neighbors .
Could this be to thwart chinas Taiwan Takeover .
China has been invading Japans’ fishing areas .
We have also been giving weapons and planes to Taiwan for Ages.
Why should Americans object ?
Are you a Republican that favors saving money ?
Only to foolishly give it to rich people for tax breaks ?
As Chip Roy has noted on the House Floor
“ name one thing republicans have done to benefit the American People !”
Zero has been done that would benefit anyone but rich people by the so called Republican Party .

How do you give someone something that was theirs to begin with. We are not a c*******t country..... Yet. Everything does not belong to the collective.

The same time yours does. When the politicians decide to confiscate it or when I die.

A nation that America once went to war with... Rearming after it was agree they would not have a military again...

But then, the US was fine with the Japanese f*****ts as long as they were friendly... So it shouldn't be too surprising...

I am all into history and it's ramifications, but you cannot hold the current generation of Japanese responsible for what a previous generation did. If we stuck to that rationale Americans would still be fighting the British because of the American Revolution and the War of 1812. In some parts of the World they k**l one another because their ancestors were at war centuries ago.

Since WWII, Japan and the US have been allies. In WWII the US and Nationalist China were close allies. Now the US and C*******t China are bitter rivals. I also do not buy into this stuff about China with it's 3-5000 years of culture, wisdom, and history that somehow allows them to play the " long game " against the short sighted US and it's western friends.

For all practical purposes Chinese history began in 1949 when the C*******ts won their civil war. All Chinese history previous to that is irrelevant. Mao destroyed Chinese history and culture. He destroyed temples, art work, historical documents, and punished the scholars who kept thousands of years of Chinese culture alive. What survives of that culture, tradition, and art only survives in Taiwan where the Nationalists saved what they could when they fled China. Some other Chinese art and literature is also preserved in h**ed Japan, because Japan's earliest literary influences came from China. If not for what Taiwan and Japan have preserved, much of Chinese literature would be lost forever.

That is another reason for China to conquer Taiwan. The C*******ts after destroying ancient Chinese culture have lately decided it is valuable. The artifacts they could l**t from Taiwan have value. Having rediscovered Chinese history the C*******t Part selectively use it for propaganda. Stirring up Chinese nationalism is all about playing China as victim. They love to talk about the century of humiliation and show poorly made movies of WW II Japanese aggression against China.

Whenever the C*******t Party needs to deflect public anger away the poor results of their policies, they suddenly become great historians.

For good and bad Americans have historic amnesia. Our worst enemies in a short time become our best friends. We don't hold grudges. America is financially and militarily weakening. We need our allies like Japan to come to our aid. We are fortunate that both Japan and South Korea are somewhat wealthy friends. They both fear Chinese aggression.

China is also financially and militarily going downhill. Their big problem is that their ' friends ' like Russia and North Korea are economic basket cases.

I should be wealthy but my trophy wife keeps me too poor to travel overseas. Besides I am sure I would be arrested and never heard from again if I stepped foot in China. I hear that those cameras all over China never seem to work if you are a victim of crime, but they will catch you if you dare say anything the government dislikes. If you as a foreigner have any dispute with a Chinese citizen, the police and the courts will always side against you.

I know nothing about Russia's $ 75 B profit. The US will crash and burn in 2033 when our SS goes broke. Until then it is party time because we are too stupid to fix our problems. Russia and China will both be lucky to make another 5 years. China should have collapsed, but through sheer brute force XI has willed that it will not collapse, YET. The holders of China's debt will be the ones to get skinned eventually. You would have to be a moron to own Chinese bonds. It's a contest to which sector is deeper in debt, the property market or those fancy schmancy high speed trains the Chinese propagandists love to brag about.

Xi's campaign of terror is holding China together, as he fritters away the $ Trillions of financial reserves his predecessors built up. He is 70 and doesn't look all that healthy to me. When he is gone, and if the next guy is not as big a tyrant, China will finally explode.

Xi's visit to Biden was hilarious. Two BS artists slinging manure. Xi needs some accommodation with the US because China's exports to the US are declining. Xi needs that Yankee dollar. I***t Joe Biden ironically needs Xi almost as much. Biden trails Trump because of the economy, but such is the hatred of Trump, he can still win if things don't get much worse.

Biden cannot afford the collapse of the Chinese economy until after the e******n because it would d**g down the US economy. Biden likely gave Xi just enough to stave off imminent catastrophe. Just enough encouragement to stupid American corporations to invest some money in China to keep it afloat long enough for Biden's corporate donors to get their money out.

Political leaders normally take advantage of quiet personal moments to do side deals. There is an encouraging picture of Xi and Biden strolling along together in what seems to be a garden. However, like everything with these two, it is nothing but a photo op. What was missing in the photo is an interpreter. Xi can't speak English and Biden doesn't understand Mandarin. So no personal rapport that would help both sides can happen.

China is still strong enough to take Taiwan as long as Biden is President. If Xi is okay with the economic cost it is definitely doable, but that window is closing. In two or three years China will be too weak. Xi is too stubborn to commit to the reforms that would quickly turn the Chinese economy around.
