Not a burn, it's just that there are some Christians out there who understand that the only way to find god is through faith and not reason!

Just finished reading this extraordinary science tour de force
by Dr. Stephen Meyer, a physicist and philosopher of science,

Return to the God Hypothesis: Three Scientific Discoveries that Reveal the Mind behind the Universe.
The New York Times bestselling author of Darwin’s Doubt presents groundbreaking scientific evidence of the existence of God, based on breakthroughs in physics, cosmology, and biology.

Beginning in the late 19th century, many intellectuals began to insist that scientific knowledge conflicts with traditional theistic belief — that science and belief in God are “at war.” Philosopher of science Stephen Meyer challenges this view by examining three scientific discoveries with decidedly theistic implications. Building on the case for the intelligent design of life that he developed in Signature in the Cell and Darwin’s Doubt, Meyer demonstrates how discoveries in cosmology and physics coupled with those in biology help to establish the identity of the designing intelligence behind life and the universe.

Meyer argues that theism — with its affirmation of a transcendent, intelligent and active creator — best explains the evidence we have concerning biological and cosmological origins. Previously Meyer refrained from attempting to answer questions about “who” might have designed life. Now he provides an evidence-based answer to perhaps the ultimate mystery of the universe. In so doing, he reveals a stunning conclusion: the data support not just the existence of an intelligent designer of some kind — but the existence of a personal God.

My experience with this book was an exhilarating challenge. Dr. Meyer noted in the prologue that he tried to make the complex scientific theories and methods accessible to the widest readership, but because of mathematical equations and a profusion of graphics showing the scientific principles and experiments at work, a background in science would be beneficial. I found that to be true, it helped me a good deal. Even so, there are some portions of the argument that are a bit of a struggle to comprehend. As a whole, this book is epic, there is a massive amount of science, both atheistic and theistic. And the title of the book begins with "Return", which can mean only one thing.
That scientists at some point in the past based their work on a God Hypothesis.

This of course is absolutely true.
The founders of modern science were theists, and many of them were Christians.
Then in the 19th century came Holyoake, Darwin, and Nietzsche.
The origin of the species and "God is dead" began to dispel the notion of a creator,
and scientific theories became naturalist/materialist.
They went to extreme lengths with mathematical calculations to create an argument for something from nothing.
With impeccable logic and a well organized presentation, using fundamental laws of science, Dr. Meyer's argument for intelligent design is a mind blower.

From the scientific community on Meyer's book:

"A marvelous compendium of indisputable scientific evidence in support of the existence of God."
Dr. Marcus Eberlin, professor of chemistry, MacKenzie University. Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Thomson Medalist.

"A state-of-the-art treatise on arguments and counterarguments about intelligent design. It performs a gigaton task of covering the origin of everything from molecular machinery to the entire universe. A much-needed book.
Dr. Stuart Burgess, professor of engineering design, Bristol University; research fellow, Clare Hall, University of Cambridge.

"With this book, Stephen Meyer earns a place in the pantheon of distinquished, non-reductive natural philosophers of the last 120 years, from the great French savant Pierre Duhem through A.N. Whitehead to Michael Polyani.
He has written a profound, judicious book of great value combining both advanced, detailed scientific expertise and philosophicsal, integrative wisdom."
Professor Michael D. Aeschliman, emeritus Boston University; author of The Restoration of Man.

"A meticulously researched, lavishly illustrated, and thoroughly argued case against the new atheism.
Even if your mind is made up--especially if it is--Meyer's refreshing take on humanity's most unbridgeable divide between secular and divine accounts of origins of the Universe, is a joy to read. You may not come come away convinced, but you'll be richer for the journey."
Dr. Brian Keating, Chancellor's Distinguished Professor of Physics, UC-San Diego, author of Losing the Nobel Prize.

"Meyer masterfully summarizes the current evidence from cosmology, physics, and biology showing that the more we learn about the universe and nature, the more relevant the God Hypothesis becomes."
Dr. Anthony Futerman, Joseph Meyerhoff Professor of Biochemistry, Weizmann Institute, Israel.

"Reviewing all relevant evidence from cosmology to molecular biology, Meyer builds and irrefutable 'case for God'
while delivering an unanswerable set of logical and scientific broadsides against the currently fashionable materialistic/atheistic worldview, Meyer builds his argument relentlessly, omitting no significant area of debate.
The logic throughout is compelling and the book almost impossible to put down. Meyer is a master at clarifying complex issues, making the text accessible to the widest possible audience. Readers will be struck by Meyer's extraordinary depth of knowledge in every relevant area. The book is a masterpiece and will be widely cited in years to come. The best, most lucid, comprehensive defense of the 'God Hypothesis' in print. No other publication comes close. A unique tour de force."
Michael Denton, MD, PhD, former senior research fellow, biochemistry, University of Otago; author of Nature's Destiny.

"This is a long overdue book that until now neither scientific experts nor religious believers had the courage to write. For those genuinely curious about the God Hypothesis, this book provides the fairest, most comprehensive statement available."
Dr. Steve Fuller, Auguste Comte Chair in Social Epistemology, University of Warwick: author of Knowledge: The Philosophical Quest in History.

"This is a truly superb analysis of the relevant evidence. Stephen Meyer convincingly demonstrates that the God hypothesis is not just an adequate explanation for the origin of our fine-tuned universe and biosphere, it is the best explanation."
Professor David Galloway, MD, DSc, FRCS, FRCP, College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences, University of Glasgow; former president, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

You lack both and that is why you choose not to believe.
