Highest daily US oil production...Ever!!!!!
More oil was produced than during the trump years, and the facts are the US under President Biden's policies mean
the country is oil independent
Then why is crude oil $75.45 a barrel and imports at 8 million barrels per day?
Why buy 628,000 barrels per day from Russia and Iraq?
U.S. Oil Imports by Country
According to data from the U.S. Energy and Information Administration, the United States imported between 8.1-8.8 million barrels of crude oil per day from July to December 2021. Just over a million barrels per day come from OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) nations, led by roughly 550,000 barrels a day from Saudi Arabia. The U.S. also imports nearly 7.5 million barrels of crude oil per day from non-OPEC nations.
Chief among these is Canada, which supplies the U.S. with approximately 4.7 million barrels per day, significantly more than any other nation.
Top 10 Countries from Which the U.S. Imports Oil (in barrels per day Dec. 2021):
Canada — 4,783,000
Mexico — 645,000
Saudi Arabia — 550,000
Russia — 405,000
Colombia — 228,000
Iraq — 223,000
Ecuador — 219,000
United Kingdom — 126,000
Nigeria — 110,000
South Korea — 102,000
President Joe Biden inherited an SPR at 638 million barrels.
However, first in response to rising gasoline prices, and then as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, President Biden announced the most aggressive SPR drawdown in history.
During his first two years in office, the SPR was drawn down by 266 million barrels.
So far in 2023, another 25 million barrels have been sold from the SPR.
It would take 140 supertankers to refill the level before Biden.
"Supertankers" are the largest oil tankers and the largest mobile man-made structures.
These ships can t***sport 2,000,000 barrels (320,000 m3) of oil/318,000 metric tons.
