Create your own wealth and provide your own social security.

Anyone thinking they can survive off of institutional social security had best prepare to live like a pauper.

Look at all of the suggested changes to the whole program and then make sure every facet gives a little. Like raising the age of retirement, to how much is taxed, to who and for how long.

You do this by a committee of Dems and Repubs of equal numbers, whose members are picked by the opposite party. They meet in private, hashing things out with a daily rotating chairman. All v**es are in secret for all issues being v**ed on and require a 75% approval between them. After all issues are settled, it is presented as a package with agreement of at least 67% overall approval by the House and at least 50% from each party on an open recorded v**e.

Each side has to give some of what they consider as key issues. Established in private so their are no grand standers or finger pointers or party divisions. Utter secrecy guaranteed by a sworn oath to retire from the house for revealing anything discussed in committee.

Act like adults looking for a reasonable sane solution both sides and America can live with.

Logically Right

Raising the ceiling .
Simple.
A lot people stop paying after 3 months into the year.what if instead they paid 6 months into the year?
Most of us pay year round.
Our money is just as dear to us as those who only pay 3 months of the year before reaching the cut off ceiling.
raise the ceiling.
If there’s not enough money coming in ,
Simply collect more money.
Or use any future money destined for rich peoples tax breaks to pay the shortcoming .

How about if you never paid a dime into it you don't get anything out of it.....try that.

And get a job.... try that first.

Stop giving it to foreigners we're supporting for no good reason ("refugees" and border jumpers). Since they've made it a "tax" charge everyone no matter how much they make. Also since they made it a "tax" everyone participates. Regular working folks, teachers, police, firefighters, government workers, railroad workers, EVERYONE.

I'd rather retire wealthy than to retire depending only on social security.

Now if your employer provides a retirement income along with 401k, you can retire comfortably and still receive social security.

But if you think you can live well solely on social security without some kind of supplemental income, you're sadly mistaken.

Fix it so the Democrats and the Republicans can't get their hands in the cookie jar.
