I listen every Saturday night and have for decades. I'm glad you like it! A most excellent radio show! Hey! Get this, Kenny Rogers and the First Edition had a song in 1968 called "I just dropped in" to see what condition your condition was in. It was considered one of the first psychedelic songs of the Hippie Era. "Inna Gadda Da Vida" by Iron Butterfly came out that year, too. Last month was "Psychedelic Saturday Night", it's in October.

1968 was a big year for rock and roll.Donovans hurdy Gurdy Man came out with Jimmy Page and other future Led Zeppelin members. Also SteppinWolf had Born to Be Wild and Cream came out with the double disc Wheels of fire with White Room and Pressed Rat and Worthog.
But the Beatles Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band was out in 1967. And Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds was definitely psychedelic rock.

Not a clue here. It could be the product of an alcohol fueled mindfog.

These names bring back lots of memories. Just realized I have not heard Telstar or Hot Buttered Popcorn for a long time.

How about "Hawkwind" and "Rainbow", or "The Sir Douglas Quintet" or "Captain Beyond"? Those guys go way back.

Been wandering the halls on this thread. I noticed that the person who started this intro hasn't said one thing. I wonder why.

This is an observation. Nothing more.

I listen to HAWKWIND almost every morning. Brainstorm and Master of the universe are my wake up songs.
Not a lot of people remember them. I don't recall CAPTAIN BEYOND but I do have some CAPTAIN BEEFHEART albums.

Remember " Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen" out of Ann Arbor? They had a couple hits, "Don't Bogart that joint", "Down to seeds and sticks again blues" and they did a great remake of " Hot Rod Lincoln".
