Most of us here, live in America. We are supposed to be some sort of melting pot of humanity. A melting pot would indicate that we all melt in together and become more similar to others. But we are more like a stew of meats and vegetables that never should be in the same pot together. We simply don't always mix well. And it is what we are and identify as, that sets us apart, instead of trying to keep a lot of that personal and trying to fit into what is here when you arrive.

So, who do I dislike. Jews, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Scientology, Moonies, Athiests, Vegans, Gays, T******s, B****s, W****s, Asians, L*****ts, Liberals, Progressives, Socialists, N**is, C*******ts, Drinkers, Druggies, Non Drinkers, Women, Men that aren't like me. Kind of like everybody. Except me.

And yet, I have nothing against most of these classes, within individuals, most of the time. One on one, or within a group, taken as people willing to communicate together and work together on this and that, we normally can get along fine.

They start to get to be a problem when they go from generic person and start going towards those listed identities. And maybe a few others. And they mostly will, sooner or later. And that is where I start disliking facets of them. And I believe many people go into hatred, whether over some new slight of something they were raised with.

Jews, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Scientology, Moonies, Athiests,
Jews. It is your Jewishness, your beanies, your orthodox dress especially forced on children and your references all to often on something about your religion. You all to often refuse to assimilate. FO
Muslims. Your dress that you force on women and those silly knee length t-shirts, orthodoxy and calling us infidels that must be k**led and praying at a bus stop on your knees, threats and k*****gs over perceived insults over Mohammad or the Koran while destroying a church or temple. You all to often refuse to assimilate. FO
Christians. I was raised one. But they don't get off free. They also take occasion to push their religion on others especially with those that go around preaching on street corners or going to foreign countries to bring God to the unbelievers who believed in their own God for thousands of years. You all to often refuse to assimilate. FO
Keep that s**t within your temples and churches etc, or in gatherings of your own kind. But out in public, blend in with what is America, while in America, and trying to be an American. Some freedom allowed for being what you are as visitors.

Vegans. Now there are some real nut cases. What is the record for meeting a vegan and their telling you they are a vegan. Fifteen minutes? Thirty minutes? You aren't healthier them me. And they tell you how much healthier they are as soon as possible and I'm in better shape at 60, 70, 80 then some of those twisted nut cases are at 30. FO

Gays and T******s. Just keep it in your bedroom and we don't care. Just don't make any moves on us and we don't care. And you T******s, if you happen to be really convincing in your new pretend life, and we make any moves towards more then casual familiarization with you, "You are obliged to let us know you aren't what you appear to be". And sooner is best. Get rid of the in your face aggressiveness in pushing what you are. No f*g f**gs and stifle that rainbow and your damn parades. Do your pickups in your bars. FO

B****s, W****s, Hispanics, Asians: As for race, we can generally see what you are. A black woman doesn't have to tell me she is a black woman. All to often her mouth alone might do that, but her color or hair sure might. We don't need your pushing language patterns from where you live or are familiar with within your own kind. Time to become more generic and maybe you'll find less hatred or prejudice against you. We don't need your gangs wandering our streets and intimidating others. We don't need your protests because you don't have what we have, and have never tried to fit in. Those that do and did are often doing quite well. Try it. Hispanics, if you don't know English, don't move here until you do. And then speak only English. We welcome legal immigrants into out community if they seriously try to fit in. And yes, we might ask you where you're from. Sometimes it is just a conversation starter and we may have been there ourselves. FO

L*****ts, Liberals, Progressives, Socialists, N**is, C*******ts: At least keep that to yourself. In social gatherings you might fit in. But you people are ruining America and we have good reason to not like you. You are extremists with ideologies that are generally unAmerican and harmful to America and even the world. Get a balanced education and you might realize the error of your ways. But please don't v**e. We can't afford to go the way you want, and you don't realize how bad it is where you want to go. FO

Drinkers, Druggies, Non Drinkers: Drinkers, yes you do get to damn drunk and I was one. But I always had the ability to stop and act sober if the time called for it. Many can't. Learn to do it. Yes, it is okay to dislike the out of control drunk or the violent and intolerant one. And no, don't try to push drinks on others. Same with drugs. Druggies, no I don't want to pass on your joint. And I don't want to ever try anything you like. I don't even want to know about it. Just politely keep it away from me. And if you are with me, like a date, and you are on drugs, I need to know so I know how to handle it if something goes wrong. And you non drinkers, you are not holier then thou and necessarily healthier then the others. Just not as much fun. FO

Women, Men: How do you go here? We are different, Don't try to change us and learn to live with our differences. and try to not be to over the top, whichever one you are. At least all of the time. Don't expect to walk into a group of the other sex and expect them to totally change who they are and what they were about before you walked in. Ladies, don't expect to show deep cleavage or wear pants so tight that we can tell whether you shave or not, and expect us to not look. Don't accuse us of molesting you because we walked up and tapped you on the shoulder. That isn't where your tatas are. And yes, men can get over aggressive. Learn how to tell us so, and we should learn when to back off. Extremists. FO

Conclusion: There are thousands of little things to big things that turn us off to those that aren't like us. These can be taught differences through generations or striking out over newer personal incidents. Hence Israel and Palestine. These involve religions, cultures, races, sexes, usages and life styles, etc. We can lower ourselves to strike out or calm down and try to familiarize ourselves and relax to the differences. The choice is ours. But it would help if the different would try to blend in and not be pushy in expressing the differences, especially instances like immigrants whether to a country or neighborhood or just visiting.

Damn. This war in the Middle East got me going.
Cheers

Agreed Mr. Counselor!!

I did, however, notice that us rednecks were left out.

That was a little disappointing for me.

But, overall, I give it 4 1/2 stars!!😁

From how I see them here.

I couldn't get at everything. Would take a couple of days and no one would read it. But if we are moving to certain areas, try to assimilate and fit in, It isn't for those that were there first, to change and accommodate you.

I remember reading one time about Hindu Muslim fighting in India and a group marched on one neighborhood intent on doing some damage. The area was greatly mixed and getting along fine, each side respecting the other side. As the r****r arrived, the two peaceful sides form a wall and basically sent the partisan side packing. Yes, people can live in peace.

I believe that within neighborhoods, the wives can do a hell of a lot to create peace over their seperate interests from that of their husbands, caring for kids, pregnancy, schooling, getting food, and as such, get to know each other and create a peace. Imagine an area, in the middle east. where they set up a new community and the residents of each new home could never live next to someone of their own religion. Something like J M J C M C M J C. And then let the people learn about each other and the differences and why, and the similarities and why. And I would expect a greater chance of peace and the longer they live like that, the greater the chances. Worth an experiment.

Cheers

All religions indoctrinate their children else the religion would fail. Atheism is the only "religion" that requires you to think your way into believing in it. All others require compliance and faith over reason which is why being indoctrinated as children comes in so handy!

Yet so many people find religion as adults..
Odd...

And it's a rare atheist who doesn't indoctrinate their children against religion...

Great piece of work. You went up 10 pts on my scale, not that you were ever lagging. I never read 10 paragraphs, but it was perfect. Better than 'well said'! Hope a high number of OPPers take it to heart! Nice job, LR!

Great post LR, I just hope that your 10 diverse personalities can merge into one distinct individual and all get along. 😀 Nowadays, with all these extreme nut jobs acting out, I think we all feel the same way that you do.

Normally, I just look at something so long (12 paragraphs) and dismiss it, but this was fantastic and right on point. Never knew LR was that good of a writer, but he really outdid himself!!!!!
