Gas prices will tumble to nearly $3.50 a gallon nationally over the next few weeks, Andy Lipow, president of consulting firm Lipow Oil Associates, told CNN.

Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis at the Oil Price Information Service, told CNN he expects an even bigger tumble — to as low as $3.25 a gallon by Halloween. Pointing to sinking wholesale prices, Kloza said retail prices should drop each day by between 1.5 cents and 2.5 cents a gallon going forward.

US oil prices plunged by 5.6% to $84.22 a barrel on Wednesday, marking the biggest one-day decline in a year. Crude dropped even further Thursday, sinking as low as $82.24 a barrel, a five-week low.

This is quite the U-turn, even for the notoriously boom-to-bust oil market. As recently as last week, US crude briefly touched $95 a barrel and Wall Street banks were predicting $100 or higher amid Saudi Arabia and Russia’s aggressive supply cuts.

Now, gas prices are already starting to retreat and experts predict sharper drops to come.

Why? I don't care what fuel costs....... somebody else has paid for my fuel for the last 3 decades..... the American taxpayers.

Thank you for your continued support of my very excessive fuel consumption.

I listen to the crying every day from the trump troops.. but in my neck of the woods, things are fine.. still hiring pay is up, prices do not seem as bad as those I read about on OPP. progress is the best in the world.. It is only the very impatient and those who support a criminal in his effort to beat the law..

Which are you Bruce?

SEASONALITY!
Why gasoline prices are set to fall even as oil marches toward $100 a barrel
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/why-gasoline-prices-are-set-to-fall-even-as-oil-marches-toward-100-a-barrel-7aef0b4f

“Weakening demand, the t***sition to cheaper winter gasoline and California’s waiver allowing the change to begin now all will put downward pressure on gasoline prices nearly nationwide starting in the next week or so, potentially going for several weeks or a month,” De Haan told MarketWatch.

Still $5 a gallon where I live.

Renewable energy receives 5x the subsidies oil gets.

Renewable energy can be a part of our future energy production, it can never fill that role however.

I read your linked article, but your meme was speaking about the oil industry and clean energy. That isn't applicable to the reason for gas prices to briefly fluctuate downward, and your article gave numbers not reasons for prices to be going down did it?

You comment on subsidies is very wrong.. only would come close if you uses $/energy amount.. which is unrealistic a/c a developing industry as opposed to the f****l f**ls which have been in the world largest business for well over a century and still are given billions in subsidies..

As for you last remark, I agree that we will probably never see the end of f****l f**l, but it is clear we should make renewable as large a part as possible..

I just got gas a couple days ago.. think I paid $3.72 or so.. anyway it was down a few cents, the last was 3.77...

The reduction will be short lived but welcome..

Reasons were in the article but maybe the part I did not post.. lower demand, the need to clear refineries for the change over to winter fuels.. those were the basic, anyway SA and Russia cut crude prices.. and it will be a short lasting reduction..

Gotta correct that price remark.. SA and Russia did not cut prices the market cut the prices.. as I should have expected..

Gas prices were $2.29 in 2019/2020. What you are trying to sell is NOT good news. And it is NOT helping to point out that prices at the pump have "lowered" to more than a dollar higher than what we were paying only two years ago. Smoke and mirrors...that's what you are selling. You can try to dress it up with what someone from a consulting firm told CNN, or some analytical crap from a "head of analysis" somewhere, but the bottom line is what we are STILL paying a LOT more every time we go to fill up now.

We are headed into a recession. People are not driving as much...not taking vacations to the beach...not visiting grandma...because they are struggling to make ends meet. It's not only gas that has gone up and up and up! It's every damned thing!

So when you tell me the price of eggs has gone from $5.00/dozen back down to $1.00, and meat, and laundry detergent, and baby food and clothes have all gone back down by dollars NOT cents....I might start to give a little bit of credence to the 💩 you just posted.
