A few excerpts from Quora....

13 million people who have jobs that they didn’t before, a steadily growing GDP. An economy so hot that the Fed has kept raising rates to slow it down. Increased wages. 3.5% unemployment. I see the GOP on the other hand is going to try to destroy that by shutting down the government. Weirdly every time the government is shut down the GOP have been in control of the house and it always lost them v**es. The poor incompetents.

Hmmm the economy is doing well.

The wealthy elite? Ah yes the elite. The elite are those who are the best at what they do. I always hire the elite in any area I can. They are by far the best employees. The wealthy dear it was your guy who was determined to make the wealthy wealthier with a massive tax cut. In that same bill the tax rate for the middle class was raised by 50% from 15% to 22%. Pay attention.

Kids live at home So in your world do you birth them and leave them in a diaper bag beside the road? Our kids lived at home with us because we loved them and raised them and owed them everything they needed. When they became adults they left home between 18 and 19, went to their preferred universities qualified for their professions married and are now raising there kids with mommy and daddy supporting them. They are doing much better economically now than they did between 2017 and 2021. As their kids grow up they are becoming independent adults. The oldest grandchild is now 22 and will be graduating with her pre med degree next year. Yup she can use her brain and like we did and like our kids did she is working and paying her own way through her university.

Yes they can use their minds, our daughter is a large animal vet who can be called out any time of the day or night. She is hardly lazy. Our son is a civil engineer who married a civil engineering student while he was in grad school and they run their own company calculating stresses, materials and building infrastructure. Yes we all can use our minds. My US branch lost money when Trump was pressie due to his trade wars. We all tightened our belts. My employees now have gotten raises that more than made up for their built tightening. They have no gripes about the economy.

I suspect you know little about economics. but are in a job that pays comparatively little and base your total “economic knowledge” on the price of gas.

Why do you repost other peoples lies. Here is my response to one of them.

You pay attention! Trumps tax cuts to middle class.

2017 tax year: 25% $37,951 – $91,900 $75,901 – $153,100 $37,951 – $76,550 $50,801 – $131,200
2022 tax year: 22% $41,776 – $89,075 $83,551 – $178,150 $41,776 – $89,075 $55,901 – $89,050

Looks like a decrease to me. Certainly not a 50% increase.

I filed 4 tax returns in 2020 for four middle class families. All four saved around $1500 in taxes compared to what they would have paid prior to Trump's tax reform.

If your taxes went up under the Trump tax plan there are only three likely reasons.

1) You own expensive highly mortgaged real estate and live in a blue state with high property taxes since the deduction was limited for property taxes and interest.
2) You have a large number of dependents since the dependents deductions were replaced with a larger standard deduction.
3) You made more money than before the Trump Tax bill.

Now when the democrat's inaction forces Trump's tax cuts to expire in 2025 that's another story.

I see from your last comment, you are aware the tax deductions will expire for 2025 and that will mean higher taxes.. as this was an every two year process. the tax increases people may have seen are part of the writing which made the middle/working class deductions temporary..

As for my own taxes, I have never been able to decide for sure how much my taxes would have been under the past rules.. first year I sold some property, lost a tax review which was not related other then in my mind.. I am pretty sure that the capping of local expenses including local tax and property expenses at only 10,000$ did cost me a depressing amount..

And make not mistake, I am also POd with the dems for not forcing the changes needed for fairness. Although President Biden has not been able to pass any bill through the congress, a look at the contents proposed did not repeal or eliminate the temporary status of the 2017 tax code for the middle/working class..

I am pretty sure that I will never see a tax bill I am happy with..

And again you’re a useful idi**. That 13 million number includes a large percentage of people who lost their jobs due to the shutdow. Wages have not kept up with inflation. Shutting down the government has little or no affect on the economy. Never has. All it does is prove how many non-essential workers the federal government has.
What bill raised the middle class marginal tax rate? Your living at home and being better off is a complete fallacy. I can’t imagine 18 to 20 something year olds wanting to live at home. Unless they’re liberals. Congratulations, your daughter actually has enough smarts to get a degree and a job she loves and it pays well.
Apparently she takes after her mother. Explain this genius. Biden and his great economy have around a 60% disapproval rating. You have no clue about the economy.

The expiration had to be included in the original bill due to some budget rules that I don't feel like looking up right now. A couple times the republicans have tried to make the changes permanent but democrats blocked them.

Here is the latest effort to make the changes permanent in 2023 that has gone nowhere.

https://buchanan.house.gov/2023/2/tcjapa-118#:~:text=February%2012%2C%202023,Act%20(TCJA)%20of%202017.

As far as knowing if the changes saved or cost you.. The only way I know is to take the income and deductions used the year after the tax cuts and enter them into an older form the year before the cuts to show how the bottom line changed. I use turbo tax so plugging the numbers into a previous year is easy.

Yep. In a growing and booming economy, people make more and have more buying power. Just the opposite is happening here, except for the rich. You democrats are always saying the republicans are only about helping the rich but this l*****t democrat President has adjusted the economy to favor the rich and hurt the poor and middle class.
