Reaction to Menendez Says So Much

Menendez, a Democrat, is proving that getting tangled up in corruption charges isn't just for Republicans. But he is also exposing a VERY pronounced difference between Democrats and Republicans when it comes to their response to corruption charges.

Democrats are calling for Menendez to resign as a matter of principle. Meanwhile, Republicans are trying to ignore the corruption charges that their own Santos is tangled up in.

I think it's very clear that Democrats have a better work ethic. Whenever a politician is tangled up in corruption charges, the reaction from his or her party depends on which party it is. If he or she is Republican, the party will ignore it, bury it or deny it. If he or she is a Democrat, the party will tell them to GTFO.

I'm just wondering how much of this is a true measure of political morals or how much of it is a matter of the which constituents actually care. It's possible that the Democrats are asking Menendez to resign so as not to upset or disappoint their supporters, where Republicans know their supporters care less about corruption than they do about winning.

Yes, there's a handful, mostly junior members from Long Island where a lot of v**ers are Democrats. But the Republican leadership is far more reserved with some such as McCarthy saying let's wait and see what the committee says. You also have Republicans like Gaetz saying that Santos should be investigated but not "shunned".

Menendez is being shunned not just by juniors expressing opinions but by Democratic leadership.

My bet is Menendez will be out long before Santos is.

I'll, take that as a compliment. After all, you DO have to bend left to find justice and freedom in the U.S.A. today. The right has clearly stepped in the manure of f*****m.

They are trying to get rid of Menendez, he's not far enough left. Why didn't they ask for him to resign a year ago when his first charges were filed? They wanted/needed his v**es for something. Nothing like blackmailing a fellow critter.

I think your assumptions are false, and biased

That's just what the Republican mind-mommies tell their victims. An easy task considering how none of them know what Marxism is.

LOL - Well, that's always a feasible theory. Of course, if that's the game, you would think Manchin or Sinema would be the marks, not Menendez.

I'm more inclined to think the Democrats are catering to their base... I think Democratic v**ers are generally less susceptible to party line propaganda. Republican leaders can rely more on their base to believe wh**ever they tell them, so they can come up with conspiracy theories to counter the charges, such as the e******n conspiracies that have convinced the Republican base that Biden "stole" the e******n. That kind of stuff doesn't work so well on liberals and Democratic leadership knows that.

I have studied it. Democrats plans model the C*******t Manifesto and Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals, both of which I have copies so do not tell me I do not know about Marxism.

Well, I'm not stating anything as fact, so there really isn't any basis for calling it false. But yeah, it's a biased opinion... I'm suggesting that in general, Republicans are less concerned about morals than they are about winning.

I'm sure you disagree, which is fine.

Funny thing... I've always associated that with Democrats... my experience has been that they definitely have no morals and put winning at any cost ahead of anything else.
