You are the kind of man that make women feel good about themselves. I love his early stuff.... a real good one was You Can Leave Your Hat On...... You know that music is the biggest trigger of memories and I think that Joe's music has always been filled between "Strange Movements" and "What a Voice" in my mind.

I just found out he died. I'm glad you got this posted. I didn't know whether to post it on chit chat or political.

I don't think I'm the only one who remembers that time as a
" special " time.

That time was quite special. Music seemed to evolve overnight....from the Beetles wanting to Hold Hands to Janis Joplin missing her Bobby McGee. I wore flowers in my hair much to the chagrin of Papa. I bought my first car and interviewed for Pan Am..... Good times and there was the bad....young men dying is rice patties of Nam, returning military being spat on. But, Joe...well one can only think about the faces he made while he sang, the hurky-jerky movements.....and you knew that you too could get by with a little help from our friends. And should you stop and listen to his voice....although raspy was pitch perfect.

I saw Joe Cocker in concert many times. When my husband and I would have a disagreement I would sing Joe's version of "Cry Me A River." I loved all the man's early recordings.
