I would not mind . I personally have not served jury duty for over 30 years . I used to get out of it by telling them a lot of my relatives are cops . I got permanently out of it by saying I was sole support of my family and also everyone who worked for me would have to be off work while I served -- I have a hard ship deferment .

My job will pay me while I serve. I'd rather work.

You kinda’ make a good point. You would make a fine juror, but, how would you like to have a jury of KevYns, Pegs or Kemmers?

Jurors should be paid professionals. The “original” idea of a “jury of your peers”, assumed that most people were educated or, at least, had some common sense. I guess you’ll find out if there are eleven intelligent individuals in your community.

If I get into trouble….I want a judge to make the decisions…..no jury.

If it isn't to late and you can get it on the internet, watch "12 Angry Men". Good take on juries, biases and working to find the t***h.

Glad you'll be paid -- I don't blame you for wanting to just work instead .

When they called me at an inconvenient time I went in for the first round of se******ns they asked if I knew anything about the case. I said some but not enough to make a difference. They asked if I could execute my duties as a junior. I looked at the defendants table and said no doubt,I can spot a guilty person a mile away. When they recessed for lunch they said I was dismissed. the ones chosen for trial were tied up for five weeks. That was in early 90s. I haven’t heard from them since.

Hell yeah...

We'd drink a couple of cold ones after you found me innocent of assault and manslaughter...
(honestly I had no idea Woody was inside that pinata )

Bring a book or crossword puzzles or something to do on your phone (games?) you could be sitting there all day. That's what happened to me.

Here’s a way out. Raise your hand and tell them you have a question. Ask… “Do we get to choose the method of execution when we announce the defendant is guilty?”

Sounds like shirking duty to me.

Last time I got called for jury duty I had a bad cold. After I sat back there coughing and sneezing for a few minutes the judge sent me home. I still got paid for the whole day.
