The Day the Earth Stood Still. Ever seen it?

I was just wondering if anyone out there had ever seen the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still"? If you haven't, you should look it up and watch it. The central premise is that only when pushed to the brink is life, in this case, Man, capable of change.

I was just wondering what my conservative counterparts (not you Blade since you don't think you are a counterpart) thought about that? Can we change without being pushed to the brink or can we use logic to guide us through change? I used to think we could but anymore I don't think we can and the aliens would do the earth a favor by snuffing us out...

Well, yes, but the question begged is can we changed without adversity forcing us to do so? Now Jennifer Connelly convinced the alien that we can change...she could probably convince me too...but deep down I don't think so...

No..
A united community might opt to enact change, but a divided community requires an outside force..

Why must it be a space alien who scares us crazy humans straight ? What if one guy got powerful enough to take over the whole world ? It could happen. That guy could tell the rest of us to straighten up and fly right. But what to call this imaginary guy ? Well he could start out as just an average Joe. He could work his way up until he gets enough power to scare the rest of us.

But his name does not have to be Joe. It could be anything. Like maybe, Adolf. Or how about Mao ? Perhaps Benito. I think I like Barak.

I agree with Canuckus that it takes adversity or a threat to change how we can change and deal with one another who are opposites-not counterparts. Do you remember what happened on 9/11/01? Our country was attacked and our country's people came together for a while.

We have never learned to agree to disagree. Our continuing divisions will be the end of America as we know it. We seem to be sliding towards a division from which there is no return! Our mutual foreign enemies are paying attention.

I saw this moveie..."years ago"...[ we both too old?]

I was thinking more about "rumors"...or reality"

1. "K**lery"...Lesbian queen, & master of her enemies destiny!

2. Why do Jill, & H****r fight?...[ because they keep raiding each other's stash of Coke?] [ Joe wants only his 10% cut]

3. Obama is really a Rainbow f*g...[ incognito?]...or...is it overt?

4. Demoncraps enjoy k*****g Human babies because it "amuses them"! :O{{{

5. This republic exists only because China allows us to! [ for a while longer]

6. Democrats, are this republic's savior!..[ Just joking, that is ridiculous, & inane]

7. Things are going to get better..."If Trump is elected"? [ Not if the swamp is left intact]

Pick a day, & ponder "each" of these illustrious postings! day by day!...Until the e******n!

Demoncraps.....do not make any more serious errors in v****g....America, cannot afford any more of your very bad jokes!

I saw the movie a very long time ago. Logic only works with logical people and it appears that they are fast becoming a minority. Too many it seems, particularly the younger generations, live in sound bites and refuse to think beyond that. It may very well take a 'do or die' moment to bring people together. I'll be loooong gone by then.

Watching old science fiction movies is a hobby. Can we change? Yes. Will we? Not the way you want. You've probably heard or seen a few 'alien invasion' stories on CNN Military Intelligence predicted them, false f**gs.
