JR-57 Loc: South Carolina

One of my pet peeves is double standards; a rule or principle which is unfairly applied in different ways to different people or groups.

Apparently OPP, some OPP members, and OPP Admin adhere to a set of double standards.

Following are two of my recent posts that were reported and subsequently deleted by Admin, along with an account suspension warning.

Deleted post:

There is nothing in my above responses that haven’t been posted by others, without recourse. The exact terms I used above have been directly communicated to me and others by other members. I obviously hit a nerve with one or more of these thin skinned members to have been reported to Admin.

This isn’t the first time and likely won’t be the last. OPP standards and application of standards are questionable at best. Considering Admin refuses to discuss their standards and application we’re left to assume there are none. OPP standards are at the whim of some thin skinned offended user and the resulting subjective application by Admin.

Double standards really don’t work for me so it’s time for me to take a break, or perhaps just move on entirely.

Time will tell.

I had my very first deleted post. I too used an (f) plus symbols and the ing...but the intention/word itself I guess was obvious. I haven't researched if this deletion is subjective or fair with others using the same terms, but I can't remember people having posts deleted after they hid an offensive word before. So, having a fair vocabulary, I don't NEED to use that word, (although it is very applicable in some circumstances and often fits the topic quite well).

Kyven, and Woodglue are the two biggest whiners to Admin here. Just so you know.

It’s happened to me twice. Admin won’t or can’t define the standards or the basis for allowing posts with the exact words and phrasing. I find that interesting.

Kinda hard to wrap your head around.

Apparently, if they report you like gutless little pukes, admin looks and jumps on you. Otherwise you probably can get away with it. Admin isn't reading everything we post. In my personal opinion, what you posted is mild.

Twice I got reported for quoting exactly what the other person said and then commenting on that in like fashion. And what I reported was them using the F word, completely spelled out and directed at us.
