I've told you, Bear had been picked up as a stray. KNOWING Bear -- he was let loose to run, probably at a stop somewhere - who knows. Being the independent cuss (he's a male) he can be, he didn't come when that person was ready to leave. He has done that to me - either you patiently wait until he's ready, and if you appear angry - he won't come - or you cry and he will come - head down, ears back as to say, I'm sorry. Males fold for women's tears. He's no different. Glad I figured that out.

I hope your daughter finds it. That is not quite the story line for this particular movie. It is a heart-warming true tale, but has kind of a sad ending...very touching.

SEMPER FI!

I was knick-named after him by friends, do to a long history of settling disputes with bullies. My relatives still refer to me as Boom-Boom. I kept quiet about that knick-name due to being in the Marines on float in asia. I'm sure you can understand why!

Funny story there. He was Navy and was in charge of the weight-room on ship which was located in a connex box. I was informed that it was okay for anybody that wanted to workout to use the facilities. Turns out, it was only for Navy personnel. However, not aware of the rules, I started working out when this huge throwback from land of the giants ordered me to leave. Of course, I refused. Well, that didn't go so well as we both decided there was only one way to solve the situation. Before we could start our form of argument, an officer showed up and said, "Bam-Bam, what's the problem?" I couldn't help but smile, and he asked me, "What so funny?" Then I introduced myself by my nick-name, Boom-Boom. We became inseparable at that point, and I was allowed to workout with the Navy. Only he called me Boom-Boom. To everyone else, it was Mongo. When we hit liberty ports it became widely understood not to start any trouble with our group of friends. It always ended badly...for them!

I sent you an email about a dog whose master died, so the dog stays at the church where he was buried. Think you will enjoy it - sort of like Hachi.

For a long time, after I first got Bear it was as though he kept looking for this someone to come after him. Whoever had him, may have been a little rough on him because he would cower at certain times during training. I found he responds very well to praise and love. Now, when I leave he goes to the window to watch for my return, then he meets me in the laundry room as I come in.

Right now, jalapenos are going at sixty-nine cents a lb. here, so she got a good buy. Don't save them for my next visit....I'd prefer fresh ones. Extra hot, please, or habanero. 8-)
